Bad Points: Sound quality, all the highs are distorted, undersampled. Even a garage band can nowadays make a better record if they want. This shows the complete disrespect the band has now to the fans, probably they only think in the potential millions they can do.

General comments: I like the music on Death Magnetic by Metallica - good they are back to the pre-load era this one fits there between the balack album and load, buth the mastering sucks. The sound quality is that of song compressed to .mp3 128 kbps. It was probably mastered to be sold online only.

I haven't really listened to much Metallica before this, but since listening to this I have listened to some of their previous albums, and with the exception of the first few albums, it feels as though Metallica have gone back to there roots a little here whilst maturing at the same time.

I really like practically every song on the album, but my favourite currently is 'All Nightmare Long'. I saw them live at the O2 Arena in London UK a few weeks ago and wow did they rock and these songs sound ...

I am a guy who first fell in love with their Black album, Load and Reload at the age of 14 but then i listened to the four master peace and since then i become die hard fan. St. Anger is the worst album by Metallica, i don't think anybody can disagree but oh my God this album it in their to 5 album and one thing to be said first time when i listened to it i was not sure but the second time and so on when i listened to i can say Gods are back with a big bang. All the songs are good but for me the ...

Death Magnetic is Metallica's most focused album since the Black album. Finally it's back to basics. I can't wait to hear Death Magnetic live.

I like the speed, similarities to ...And Justice For All, Depth in the songs, solos, and old logo. However, the products is bad, lame snare sound again, no bass, Cyanide is the only song I dislike because of the generic, St. Anger like lyrics. Overall It is the best since ...And Justice For All.

I can't believe I am finally listening to a Metallica album again without thinking, maybe in time it will grow on me. I have followed these guys since Kill 'Em All, through the ups and downs. Like the black album Load. Re-Load and St. Anger...in time they grew on me, but I had to really open my mind and forget the past masterpieces. I can't say that with DM. From the first listen it was kind of what I expected,... a mixture of everything, but it has far passed my expectations. For me it has the ...

I think that if Metallica fans aren't happy with this album then they should either throw all of their Metallica stuff away and denounce that they liked Metallica or that they should learn to play guitar and start a Metallica tribute band to play the old rubbish that they crave!

Overall, an outstanding album. I've been an enormous Metallica fan, since I was a kid, when they were an under ground phenomenon and this is the finest album they've made, since the black album. The songs are all really strong and stand on their own. This is the 1st time, in 17 years, that I will want to listen to each and every song, each and every time I play this album. During the Load-era and St. Anger, that wasn't the case. I was skipping songs here and there.
Once again, 2 thumbs up!! ...

Death Magnetic overall is the best album they have made in years way better than St. Anger and all the other albums they've made this decade and hopefully they'll stick with.

Metallica has returned to their roots. This album has a very thrashy feel to it, and reminicent of their glory days. I feel that this is the album that should have come after ...And Justice for all, and before their Black Album.

This is what metallica are about. They poured everything of themselves into this album and they should be proud of it. I just can't wait to hear their next album if this is them coming back on form and embracing their roots.

I've always and will be a Metallica fan since the begining. It's been hard from Load til now, but you always keep hope that they will get it together and make the music that you loved back in the day. This album proves me right. Thank you for a kick butt album and to all those fake "Rock Bands" take note....this is Metal at its finest.

Death Magnetic will bring back the memories of many albums to you as you can find the spirit of the old songs revived somehow here. Still the influence of the new bands and new school metal is there and they can't avoid it. You can't attract the attention of the new generations depending completely on the old school as everything changed these days.KE

Far better than anything they did post-Black but far from a classic.

Death Magnetic is a good album. It sounds more of like a band contribution (instead of Hetfield, Ulrich). They got tired of all that production stuff with Bob Rock and Rick Rubin being the producer adds a little edge to it.

Only bad thing about the record was Lars and his count off's with the hi-hat and his lame snare fills.

Death Magnetic is brilliant, still some weird time changes in some songs, and Kirk still likes that wah pedal a little too much. All in all, superb and the best thing they've done in 15-20 years.
