Good Points: Good variety of dishes on the menu.Freshly cooked food.Good value for money.Friendly smart staff.Cosy and relaxing atmosphere.
Bad Points: Slightly slow service.
General comments: A very impressive first visit to the Fox on Valentine's evening. The food was lovely and fresh, the Tempura Prawns were very tasty and main courses equally good. Great variety of dishes to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed on in the cosy bar afterwards and were impressed with the relaxed atmosphere and stylish decor. A lovely night in all and will be back. Highly recommended and our local pub should take notes from The Fox!

The food at the Fox, Menston near Leeds was lovely - you could tell it was homemade. My pie was delicious and my partner's slow cooked pork was melt in the mouth. And all washed down with a bottle of champagne (at half price!) Amazing! The staff all seemed very pleasant and professional and overall it was a wonderful evening. Looking forward to going back. Good points were the service, the food, the drinks - everything important! it was just a shame the main fire was not lit but the manager assu ...- Read bubbles226's review (103 words)

Young staff with what seemed like no training in the art of service. Had to find staff to find out where our order for food had gone. A relative ordered a sweet, it was her 80th birthday, we had secretly asked for possibly a candle - an unlit tea light arrived on her plate of Bakewell Tart.- Read Guest's review (87 words)

Very disapointing, this is the first time I have had to come home after eating out and have a sandwich! Sorry wont be coming back in a hurry.
The meal 2 of us chose in our party was unavailable. My starter was undercooked and the main courses of 2 of us were overcooked. That wouldn't be quite so bad if we hadn't had to wait so long to be served our meals.- Read M Carey's review (93 words)

We had booked a table for 10, I understand that there was another party of 10 and many other diners also present. Grossly understaffed in all departments. Food very poor, starters reasonable but main courses left a lot to be desired. 2 chicken breasts ordered and on arrival appeared to be sparrow considering their size (after complaining we were not charged for these), 2 lamb shanks overcooked, one pork meal which was not eaten as the pork was hard and dry. ony 1 desert which was good. Completely agree with 'dannyneal's' comments below. I had the scallops to start and I suspect they were a little under done, also they were billed as being accompanied by spaghetti however they were apparently noodles with a bit of sweet chilli sauce thrown over them. I too had the Lamb shoulder which I thought looked nothing like the picture on the restaurants website and seemed to have no sundried tomato, rosemary or garlic to distract from flavourless lamb. The sauce resembled a tin of toma ...- Read emsyramsy's review (124 words)

At The Fox, Menston near Leeds - The starters seemed as though they were microwaved as they had varying degrees of heat throughout. The mushrooms with stilton was extremely salty. The crab and crayfish was outnumbered by the salad.
I thought the the main course was disastrous.
The salmon fish cakes should not have been so named, there was little evidence of any salmon, but a lot of mashed potato. They were soggy and I feel should have been described as a soggy mix of potato and water with one o ...- Read dannyneal's review (254 words)
