Only just joined, but already after sifting through 100s of matches ive already found people that say dont want my area, aarrrghhh, wish you would state your preferences, looked on peoples answers and questions page, it seems that people dont bother logging in for months surely if your wanting to move youd log in weekly, im on it every day so far. Going to try to remain hopeful otherwise its private rented for me. (read more)

Iv been on this site for 2 years and not even had 1 offer. I keep getting emails and texts saying iv been matched, which I haven't as the area and bedroom entitlement is wrong. There are people with 1 child that are living in a 3 bedroom house- pathetic! And there are people like us with 4 kids who have got 2 bedrooms flat. Don't understand why there aren't people who want to downsize and give big families like us an opportunity. I'm my opinion people are just too selfish to think of others.... (read more)

been on there approx 5 yrs to date (april 2013) had a few good offers to good to be true as they pulled out when it come to signing forms, ppl on there expect the house to b pristine with all decor done to THEYRE standards or they dont want to move, seems all ppl on there want to do is go around and check out other peoples houses with no intention of moving, the council recommeneded me to this site as they refused to move me til my eldest boy turns 16 and expects him to share with his... Homes and who lives in them is so, so important. Its an absolute disgrace that it is aloud to be run in this way. or not run at all as the case may be! its open to abuse and in my experience that has been shown to be the case. Another internet scam We pay rent and tax, moving council home should be regulated and completly over seen by an official body. Having been on this website twice, on both occasions having a swap that starts out with good prospects, only for the swapper/s to pull out in the middle of proceedings, giving the most pathetic excuse on both occasions. Far too many desperados wanting to swap with you when you first join, mostly from swappers who have no matches for your criteria whatsoever. I have been on homeswapper for over nine months now and not one useful response. I have had some responses but their dont even meet a single requirement and to be honest at lot of them are spammers who ask everyone in that region for a swap because i have found those people live in absolute dumps in the roughest area's to be honest i wouldnt paml of a hell hole to someone else thats not right or fair. I've been on Homeswapper for 6 years, I'm not fussy about the condition of the property and have specified a wide area that I would be prepared to move to. All I want is a nice street and an extra bedroom so my 7 year old son and 5 year old daughter don't have to share. I've viewed one house in 6 years, which was totally unsuitable as a 2 bed converted into a 3 we wouldn't have gained anything. The website is of poor quality. Most searches result in a frozen page, or take you back to the log-on page. Successful searches require you to be logged out, but then you cannot see the full details of your serach. No contact details or customer service information is given. A very hidden email address is very hard to find. The matches mostly do not apply nor the search. Comments section is silly and should be a moderated forum. People just dont answer you and can be rude plus arrogant. Forgetting they are living in social housing just like you and its SUPPOSED to be a swap site. Your email address and phone number are on show for spammers and telesales. There are users who havent logged in for months clogging up your searches. Its a waste of money and there are a handful of real swappers on there who have to... (read more)

I totally agree with you. There are 3 matches on my account none of whom have bothered to respond to my or others requests if they wish to swap with us or not. It seems like people go on the site saying they want to swap but really they do not. I find it most odd as I would love to swap to a bigger property but having signed up with homeswapper previously found it does not work as people who sign up to it only seem interested in Looking at others properties rather than swapping. I did swap properties 2 years ago but found it by asking friends if they knew of anyone wishing to swap properties with me.

hi...just to say that I totally agree with all this comment...i have been on homeswapper for 5 years with no joy at all.......loads of people do not even answer to your questions or comments...they do not log on for months ...your phone number and email is there for the world to see and also i have only come across 3 people that have actually moved on homeswapper in 5 years....... what a joke......

having looked a number of websites regarding council/housing association exchanges, homeswapper seemed the best option. what a mistake. on the surface the system of searching seemed the best of the sites i looked at, and i hate to admit it it still is - WHEN IT WORKS - which seems to be 1 attempt in about 20. they apparently spent a fair bit of money a while back making the website look a bit prettier (and a bit more confusing), they should have spent the money on the servers and the... I have been using home swapper for the second time and have found that some swappers do not respond and some have not logged on for up to six months. why dose home swapper no say we will delete your membership if you have not used it within 2 months. and it would be nice if you could at least search for a property with out the site freezing up or showing error messages please try latter. perhaps this is why some think why bother to answer it is full of space cadets who don't really want to... I have been registered with homeswapper for the past 4mths and was impressed with the initual response I got from people wanting to swap, but! and this is the frustrating part, the majority of people using the site don't seem actually interested in swapping when it comes down to it.Maybe its down to curiosity, or nosiness. Sooooo many timewasters some are even arrogant and rude although they seem to forget they are tenants that pay rent just like us all and we're all equal. Thought we'd found a swap but it turned out that the couple owed rent even though they are still on there wasting other peoples time. Search doesn't always work and half the matches we were given do not apply. Most of the time when you click on photos to enlarge it doesn't work and most of the time people just ignore your questions. (read more)

When you have paid and joined homeswapper ( SCOUT SOLUTIONS ), logging in is ok, but try searching for a home is terrible, just either keeps logging you out or its a snail pass search, on rare occasions when it does work it does a good service. Whats amazing is that when you DON'T log in, you can have a fast search for homes with no problems, but they don't give you the contact details. So you have to join. That is very poor customer service, they take your money and could not care less.... (read more)

OMG, how do they get away with charging for this, check out the search engine, slap dash bit of code, if i have ever seen any, with loads of adverts a notice at the bottom of each screen. "making a difference in people's lives by blending commercial and social strategies" Huh! i guess if the search engine is really really carp, you can expose the gormless members to pages and pages of completely irrelevant pages full of "comercial strategies" these people deserve to Die, seriously this is incredible, i guess they depend on the demographic being glad for any little scraps thrown there way, and to think people have paid for this insult. My local authority have partnered with them so i didnt have to pay to register but the thing is less than useless, my Previous landlord was partnered with annother provider, 100% superior. INCREDIBLE. Please make sure these people dont get your money!

in my opinion Homeswapper is a waist of time there are not many people on there serious about moving hence alot of time wasters. It gives you matches that arnt relevent to you and your needs and because its not free for everyone it limits the amount of people that use the sight. I have been on Homeswapper for 3 years now and it has got me nowhere just adds to the stress of not being able to move. In my opinion its needs looking over on how the sight can be improved as it could really do with it. (read more)
