I have been using Holiday lettings to advertise my cottage for many years and I am struggling to find a reason to carry on next year. There has been problems with my property not appearing on the site, other properties getting preferential treatment for some unknown reason keeping mine down the pecking order(probably to do with not using Pay-pal) no contact details making it very difficult to contact anyone. It does seem that things have deteriorated in the last year, they really need to get their act together soon for me to sign up again after many good years.

Have had a listing on Holiday lettings for 4yrs. They are great in generating rentals. However, when there are problems with listings or search it is becoming increasingly difficult to get it rectified. Unlike several years ago, there is no email address to contact them. When you call, there is no choice in their automated system for problems with listings (although I have to do this every few months, so I assume it's a regular occurrence.) Now it seems they have contracted customer service out to a call centre. I felt I was talking to a bad robot. The agent kept repeating things, and irrelevant things...like, I see you are calling from the number on record (several times?). Then when I stated the problem that searches were not showing my property due to some glitch (despite it working on Tripadvisor) she seemed to have no concept of what I was saying. I have very little confidence this will be fixed.

Unlike my other websites, there is no Contact Us link. But thanks for mentioning the FAQ pages. Once there I was able to do some searching and eventually ended up with a contact link.

Number of request is surprisingly low and the quality of requests is not better. Most of the queries end up unconfirmed and the sales ratio is much lower compared with main competitors.Business flow is not satisfactory even with a great listing. Easy to use and update, well adapted to multiple villas management. Payment process very safe and reliable for guest and host.

The only problem that i find is that i can't open de Holiday lettings app, after the last upgrade the app dont open, and it is really bothering me have to connect through the site

We are sorry to hear that you had some issues with cancelling one of your bookings. If a guest needs to cancel, they can do so themselves and your cancellation policy is automatically applied. This will not affect your account, as guest cancellations are beyond your or our control.

Concerened about the changes of policy in relation to how to pay i.e. annual payments and then another charge of 3 per cent on top if the client pays via HOliday Lettings and another commission payment if the client pays via Paypal and then another commission to TripAdviser if the enquiry comes from this route which I understand to be the same company as Holiday Lettings. We have been with Holiday lettings for many years now and whilst your payment policy needed to "settle down" your different advisers provided different rules. So now we are changing back to annual payments and requesting the clients to pay us direct. this is also because two clients have experienced difficulties making payments and also now that we have had to make the prices in euros because the £ is so strong the clients are informing us that there is a further commission they have to pay their banks to change £ to euros. All complicated and my concern is real in that whilst your payment policy changed frequently I never received any notification of this. so we are reverting back to annual listings for all our properties. also we had to get rid of PayPal as this is a total disaster and I have reported this to your company several times in that if a client paid with a card Holiday Lettings computer system sent a message that the client had paid BUT if their card was not accepted Holiday Lettings did not let us know this. Luckily the clients were honest. PayPal was charging highly for a service which simply did not work and caused extra administration. These problems led me to advertise with another company as well as Holiday Lettings

If only more owners would do what you and I have done perhaps Holiday Lettings would sit back and realize what a terrible mistake they have made regarding the changes made. Surely they are not going to ignore all the terrible reviews being written, they are going to lose so much custom.

The site worked very well but it was not made clear that I should contact the owner of the property. When we arrived at the property we could not gain entry. My mistake! I expected to find a reception area of some kind or at least a contact number on the door. If it had not been for the help of the staff of the Diamond Resorts hotel next door we would of had to sleep on the beach. Never mind "Alls well that ends well"

The Villa was on the edge of a small development accessed via a dirt track, fine when sunny, bit of a nightmare if it had been raining. The villa was damp, and signs of it were all around, lucky we were there as rain water was coming into one of the bedrooms as drains were blocked. Directions to the villa was unclear, and number of calls were made, and ended up with the niece of the person who was meant to be cleaning and managing the villa, giving directions, luckily we had some knowledge of the area otherwise it would have been even harder to find The owner stated that a welcome pack would be placed in the villa on arrival, as we asked for keys so that we could do so before our guests arrived, other than cobwebs there was nothing and the manager wasn't seen for the whole week The main problems of the villa was the management, and the actual company marketing it, trying to get access to an actual person was long winded and when I tried to extend the stay, the management didn't contact me until an hour before guests arrived and wouldn't answer the mobile number given after the first contact. In summary I'd use the villa again, but would NOT use the this site to do so, as auto replies are bloody annoying and was all I received for a number of weeks, and I'd advise the owner to change the management as they are lazy and incompetent

Although the process of booking was easy with holiday lettings. I have reservations about the quality of the accomodation that you represent and what process you have for checking this out. I was bitterly disappointed with the Lodge, which we stayed at recently and booked through yourselves. I have written to the Lodge directly claiming compensation and to date have still,not had a response. I have now written to my credit card company,as advised to by the Consummer Advice Bureau. I am also still waiting for the refund of £50 refundable deposit from The Lodge, which again has not been credited to my credit card. I have taken further advice and am considering the options open to me. There was nothing to like about the place, therefore no further comments to be made.

Hi stayed in apartment in early October. Very nice & comfortable. However one kitchen cupboard was infested with fly's from a bag of of potatoes which had been left by previous visitors. The stench was horrendous! It didn't feel like it had been cleaned properly. Considering we paid €40 up front for cleaning following our visit we wondered why as we had to clean up before we even started our holiday! We would recommend this lovely apartment but suggest the cleaning regime be more thorough before visitors arrive.

We successfully booked 2 properties in Spain for vacation. The site was a little awkward to use, but it was better than trying to use Trip Advisor itself. I am a big fan of Trip Advisor, which is how I got to Holiday Lettings. It would be a huge improvement to be able to search and save Holiday Lettings results effectively through Trip Advisor. Having said that, we experienced no problems corresponding with the property agents. We also appreciated that the deposit appeared to be held in escrow and that Holiday Lettings notified us as to when we might expect the return of that deposit. I was unclear how the deposit refund process would work prior to booking. In addition, you had to stumble across the access page to use AMEX for payment. It was not a primary option. All in all, the experience was very positive. It would be a higher rated experience if there was seamless access through Trip Advisor.

Experience great service and prompt replies until I asked where the sun beds shown in the pictures advertising the property were. I did get a reply saying they would ask the cleaner but got nothing back after that. I did chase but everything went very quiet. My husband came down with a bug so I ended up stuck in the property but not able to sunbathe. I would have appreciated a response and expect the owners to change the property photos as they were misleading.

The properties seemed to be somewhat inaccurate in that major drawbacks were not described fully. There is no one you can speak to in choosing a property to guide you in your decision. After our deposit was made I had difficulty making arrangements to complete the payment. A note said it would be cancelled if the full payment was not received yet we received no notification. The system is not user friendly in my opinion. We have used corporations to rent property in Europe in the past. We were able to discuss options with a live person. That person could describe the facilities and locations knowledgably. Our communication was primarily with the property manager and his friend. They were helpful, but of course, they were not offering other options. When booking, we did not understand the remoteness of the property, the rugged terrain, the distance from sights that would make sightseeing a long, arduous experience in the car. Phones and gps simply did not work in the mountains. We also did not understand the drawbacks of the property, such as one bathroom upstairs and none on the main floor.

I searched for and found a cottage in Devon and an apartment near Glasgow. The description was accurate, contact with the owner was pretty easy although a bit secretive and booking enquiries were answered promptly. We have now had our holiday, partly in these places and were not disappointed. It all worked well. Disappointed with the use of PayPal as the only way to pay due to the fees added by them, and cost of getting back the security deposit. That money is still in the PayPal 'bank' and have not figured out what to do about it. Include the booking fee and it adds up to a significant amount.

The property looked very appealing on the internet. Unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. The bedrooms were dark particularly the second bedroom. The third bedroom was dismal. The furniture desperately needed an upgrade. The kitchen was very basic with hardly any cups or glasses, for a party of six there would not have been enough. The whole apartment needed a revamp and not having internet or WiFi in the 21st century is a non starter. No reliable public WiFi. The front balcony is at road level and very overlooked.The location was good very close to shops and restaurants, the pool was small but clean and very quiet with well kept grounds.

It was ok , but had trouble with the website and payments as it kept crashing and couldn't see if I had paid !staff ok but not ultra helpful ! Just kept telling me to use the website! Accommodation is then sorted with the owner! So the service stops there!!!

I am not happy that I can5 get contact with anyone to discuss the return of my damage deposit. Very efficient about collecting payment but not in returning money due.
