“Steer Clear”

I wanted to leave EE/T-mobile and the end of my contract in one months time due to lack of reliable signal ( 0 >1 bar) To leave is a nightmare, the operator kept offering me a new phone or a new SIM She couldn`t get it into her thick skull that this was pointless with no RF signal on my handset, since they recovered a mast a few months back. Then she changed tack and offered me an ADSL package at £1 per month It must have been 15 minutes before she relented and to my horror wanted £9.99 out of me for a PAC code I was also told to call back on the 8th Feb to terminate my contract ( that`s the day it ends !!) to give 30 days notice and a PAC code would be supplied Hang on, that`s what I am trying to do with this call If I called back as suggested on the contract end date, I would no doubt be told that 30 days notice is required. I asked to speak to someone else who was the direct opposite in manner. He immediately issued a PAC code with no mention of alternative packages. To cut a very long call short, they put all obstacles in your way to stop you leaving

“ Fair Use Policy changed”

written by on 17/08/2013

Well i didnt mind t mobile when the fair use policy was when you went over your limit you could only watch movies between 12-00-16-00. But now it it this, You've now gone over your Fair Use Policy. For the remaining time purchased, you can continue to browse and email, but other services such as video won't work. So after my first day i have gone over my usage and i cant watch any youtube videos, movie's ect...... what a joke. so i have about 27 days left with no movie access. Never will i go with t mobile again, terrible service and there customer care is just awfull

“The Worst Broadband I've Ever Seen”

written by sad100 on 06/12/2012

I have HUAWEI E3131 PAYG Broadband dongle with T-Mobile @ 30 days for £15. I have many days of the paid month. Now it is around ZERO speed. Today I have tried to open uswitch, broadbandwatchdog and moneysupermarke broadband speed test pages to check speed but not able to run tests due to its worst speed. Also tried to check some news but no ssuccess.Totally Misleading & fallacious advertisement, Waist of time and money.

Pattibod's Response to sad100's Review

Written on: 03/04/2013

I've got the same problem. I'm in the UK for 2 weeks, have bought a dongle, and paid £15 for 30 days. Now 5 DAYS IN they've told me I've used 80% of my 'fair use policy' - this wasn't mentioned when I bought the dongle the only words I heard were "unlimited". Nothing unlimited about that. I'll now have to buy MORE as I've got another 10 days here and need an internet connection - this is also proving to be unreliable, slow and dropping out far too often for my liking. Can't wait to get back home to my trusty WIFI. Not something I would recommend to anyone coming here.

“Unreliable Broadband”

★★★☆☆

written by SophieP on 18/04/2012

I decided on T-Mobile for my broadband and a pay per day option. Someone had recommended T-Mobile to me for good reliability. However my experience was not good. The broadband did not connect frequently, even after I had searched and checked the broadband reception for my area. The internet would cut out at the worst times, for instance when I was half way through a purchase.

“Rubbish and should be avoided at all cost”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Errol_Williams on 07/06/2011

Rubbish and a waste of money. T-mobile advertises their mobile broadband internet service as being "unlimited" which is nothing but false advertisement that misleads the consumer. Why the advertising standards has not but a stop to these false advertisements is beyound belief. I've found the T-mobile mobile braodband internet service extremely limited: 1. Slow limited internet speed. 2. Images look blurry while surfing the internet. 3. Advertised as unlimited - but you have a 500MB - 1GB monthly cap. 3. Prevent you from downloading or uploading files when they feel like it. 4. Can not play muliplayer games online (tested on my PS3 and Nintendo 3DS) While you can download the web and walk accelerator software to stop images looking blurry while you surf the internet, this did not last long for me as the web and walk accelerator software kept disconnecting resulting in the images showing blurry again. I can think of many other reasons why I hate T-mobile's mobile broadband internet service, but I don't want to waste no more of my precious time. Do yourself a favour and read the majority of reviews posted by other T-mobile customers who have used the "T-mobile mobile broadband internet service" http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/t-mobile-broadband.htm

“The T mobile Web and Walk mobile broadband is easy to...”

★★★★☆

written by indecisive on 23/04/2009

The T mobile Web and Walk mobile broadband is easy to setup, simply add insert the sim card and plug in the usb, after that your practically up and running.

I did have a few problems trying to work out how to top up, since I had no internet I was unable to read the Online help but i eventually found in the instructions to text instructions to 150. BA for balance, VO for voucher, this is the one i needed to enter the voucher.

After topping up I had to unplug and plug back in before I could access the internet but since then its working well. I have a problem downloading itunes but speed wise its going well.

The USB also has a slot for an SD micro memory card which is hand and saves carrying round the separate adaptor.

Its got a 3BG daily limit and i have only just got it to dont quite know what i get for that yet but the daily allowance is £2, i dont know yet whether i get cut off when that runs out or whether it takes another 2 quid.

On the whole im pretty happy with the speed and i think i must be in a good area because i have used one before and it didnt work so well, that was on a train though.

I got the USB mobile broadband dongle for £20 when i topped up £20 which is a great price as it used to £60. It works out expensive to use all the time but i think this will work out well and is a much better idea, for me personally than taking out a contract and being locked in for 12 months or more.

“FOUND ! The Uk ' s Most Expensive Mobile Broadband ??”

FOUND ! The Uk ' s Most Expensive Mobile Broadband ??

In February 2009 I purchased a T-Mobile Dongle and ShareDock from the York T-Mobile shop. After just over two weeks the unit ceased to work. After several phone calls I took it back to the shop from which I purchased it and was told that as it was more than 14 days old it needed to be returned for repair. I was given the telephone number to call T-Mobile (at 10p per minute) and after some delay got to speak to an operator. I was told that a returns bag would be despatched to me and the item would be returned for repair and that this would normally take up to 28 days. I asked if it was possible to have a replacement unit whilst it was in for repair and the shop said this was against T-Mobile policy (even though they clearly had stock and demonstration units in the store). I explained that I felt this unfair as I was being charged for a service which I had - through no fault of my own - no means to access.

Three weeks passed (during which the line rental was efficiently taken from my account as it has been on a monthly basis since) and no returns bag appeared. As I needed mobile access I took out a Pay as You Go deal with another service provider to tide me over. Total cost was now approaching £200 for two weeks T-Mobile broadband access.

Several phone calls via India later I was told to take the USB stick back into the shop, which I did. The shop agreed to return it on my behalf and ' marked it on the system as urgent ' .

By May I had still not heard anything. The unit was variously described as ' being tested 'and ' on its way back to me ' . My frustration was starting to show with the help desk. I had to repeatedly relay the whole story to several people on each call as they tried to help me. On two occasions I was mysteriously ' cut off 'in the process and consigned to the back of a 20 minute (at 10p per minute) queue.

In June I finally lost patience with T_Mobile. I expressed my utter outrage at the way I had been treated. The complaints' team escalated the case and investigated. I was informed that the unit had already been sent back by recorded delivery. Eventually they ascertained it had been sent back to the shop (not to my home address as I had been told) four weeks ago and was ready for collection. The shop had apparently sent me a text message to inform me of this. Problem was that without the Dongle I had no means to receive said text message. D ' Oh (in Homers words) To rub in the salt the shop assistant told me that they were aware of this but there was nothing else they could do (but were happy to sit on it " marked as urgent, or so I was told, for four weeks or more). I was also given an interesting insight into what the shop thought of the helpdesk.

I contacted the complaints team again and demanded that they cancel my contract. This was refused. A ' final 'offer of the balance one months free line rental was made.

By all accounts I think I deserve more having spent well over £150 per week and counting (yes, you read it correctly) for T-Mobile Broadband Access " Is this some sort of a record I wonder (perhaps you can poll your readers?). I have been five months without (and paying for) a service which I am physically unable to access due to the suppliers incompetence and no fault on my part whatsoever. I am similarly bound into a contract upon which I believe t-Mobile have defaulted.

If the rumours are true and Vodafone are about to buy T-Mobile I hope they can sort them out. They certainly cannot make it worse from my experience.

Yellowtimechris's Response to amfawcett's Review

Written on: 11/07/2009

I found this review helpful because... I have tried other networks on a mobile dongle and was going to try T-Mobile, but now I won't considering they advertise it as unlimited usage, but with a fair usage policy of 3GB a month, I decline to accept a contract with T-Mobile.
<br/>Good luck on trying to get things sorted amfawcett, would like to know what the reception was like when it worked and if it dropped the connection at any time.

This "review" has nothing to do with the modem stick - it's just a rant aboyut a bad customer service experience which you can get with any mobile provider to be honest. I've been with T mobile for more than a year and it works very well.

Overall the T-Mobile USB modem stick is very good i had the dongle which caused more problems. The speeds are good, internet access move just as fast as on any home broadband line connection.I have had the orange icon 225 and the vodafone usb stick and had internet access and speed problems with both. Although i have no 3G access the other options available like HSDA and UMTS ensure my access is flawless the majority of the time. And when i did have problems T-Mobiles customer support were very good at sorting out my problems and compensating me for any lost internet time.A good buy

I really like my t-mobile dongle - it's reasonably fast and connects most of the time without problem. I did have a hard time getting rid of the content lock but a bit of googling turned up 'no lock solutions' who sorted it for me. One thing I would say though is that it's not a good idea to use these dongles to watch bbc iplayer etc - you'll soon run past the fair usage policy (I mean really quickly). The same goes for downloading stuff (well, films and such) - it's just not intended for that kind of heavy use.
