Fonebank cannot be bothered to look for them and I have to conclude they probrably have them and have miss laid them, but cant be bothered to deal with my complaint. I've asked for my iphone to be returned Sent phone in perfect working order but they said camera was faulty! Apparently camera is blurry and tried to knock 22% - £30 of trade in value even though T&C's don't say anything about cosmetic damage. I tried to explain I had a different cover on the back and the camera lens just needs a clean but they wouldn't budge I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone (read more)

Sent my phone (HTC Desire HD) to these rip-off merchants. I was quoted £51 and they paid £25. The phone was in full working order with barely a scratch. It's a total rip-off to pay half the quoted value with no explanation and no comeback. AVOID. If these jokers want to run a decent business, they should allow you to rejec their final offer and return the phone. (read more)

We sent Fonebank a fully working handset yet they sent us a cheque for less than half the amount. When I chased this up they claimed the handset was broken when we sent it in. It wasn't. They offered us back the broken handset knowing we would receive less money elsewhere. They were also abrupt on the phone (after first failing to return my calls) and treated me like a criminal trying to scam them out of money. Appalling service from start to finish. I've been really impressed with the service from fonebank. I live near Holborn so dropped off my old mobile on my way home (no postage fees!). The next day I received an email to say that my cheque was in the post and the following day I received the cheque. According to a price comparison site, it was giving me the best deal too. Went online recommended by 3 mobile when I upgraded my iPhone, sent a immaculate and full working condition iPhone 4 to them, best online quote, paid £6.60 to send the phone as advised by the website. Got an email today to inform me they would pay me considerably less than the original quote as the headphone port wasn't working, despite it being in full working condition up to the date I sent it, I used the plug in earpiece to make and receive calls up to the time I reset the phone. i have the same problem i agreed to go with them with my galaxy s3 fully working offered £295, received an email saying my camera isnt working (when it was before i sent it off as i used it before i sent it off) and they offered me £50 less. Never use them, they will offer you the best price and bid you down!

I got confirmation it has arrived within a few days and payment into my bank account in 2 days. It appears that there are two sides to FoneBak - the first is where you send the phone payment is made and everyone is happy. The other is when there is a problem and it involves their customer service team; which in a word is terrible. Maybe it's not fone bankers fault. Maybe royal mail are the incompetent (or thieving) ones. I sent an old Sony as a test run, and it worked fine (hence 2 stars). I send a blackberry valued at £48, and hey presto it dosent arrive. Initial enquiries at post office suggests that the certificate of posting insurance doesnt cover mobile phones..... Note that in their terms and conditions they reserve the right to dispose of your phone if they do not want to pay you for it because it's stolen, or they say it's broken, or... anything, really.
They pay great prices, but there's always a risk that they'll say they didn't want your phone because there was a dead pixel on the screen. And they won't send it back to you, and there's not a lot you can do to get it back - because you agreed they could dispose of it however they liked.

I sent in two Blackberries and checked both were working before posting - they had also both been in constant use before selling - only to be told that one was now not working and they were reducing their payment to me. I googled and found this site which confirms that they are pulling a fast one on some customers. AVOID at all costs.
