We have had no major probs so far with Scotia Townbuilders but only been in house 6 months. Been happy with any minor defects getting fixed usually within a week of telling Scotia. Suppose only time will tell.

Having read through the other comments left here i felt i should counter some of the comments.

Having lived in my scotia home for nearly 2 years i have had no problems with the house what so-ever. There was the general snagging which all new houses require and that was dealt with quickly and compitently.

I found the customer care to be friendly and addressed any issues i had quickly and afficiently.

I have rated them down on value for money only because i bought at the peak of the market so f ...

Been in house nearly 2 years, very bad workmanship, flooded out through poorly fitted bathroom twice in two years resulting in us having to move out for 3 weeks to allow repairs to the house. Broken facing bricks built into house from start and not invisibly mended as stated. To start with house was 4 months late. Reworking to the roof braces that Scotia said was minor but ended up with 2 days full reworking. Major draining work in rear garden had to fight and threaten legal action to have them ...

Like the previous correspondant I would not buy another Scotia House. We have been in the house more than three years and new faults are appearing (water ingress). I believe that the problems have arisen because of less than competent supervision of the workers during the construction phase i.e. I am of the opinion that the site agent was not comepetent.

We paid a deposit for a Scotia Home in May 2008.We have been told 3 different entry dates, we have had to move plots 4 times, now to be told the development is 'unviable' but they will still keep our deposit and reservation fee.

If I had the choice again, I would not buy a new Scotia home. We have been here for a year now and it does not feel like a new house, too many problems, some of which are still not 100%. Many minor niggly faults. Some were fixed fairly quickly but others were not. No great attention to detail, water pipes/central heating pipes not fixed to walls firmly enough or joists in attic, causing noise. Poor paint finish in all rooms, toilets not installed properly, no half flush. Garden drainage seemed i ...
