DO NOT BUY A PROPERTY FROM BLOOR HOIMES!! I moved into the Wykery Copse development in Bracknell in May last year. On numerous occasions when considering buying the property, the sales teams mentioned the trees and sound proof wall that would act as a barrier between our house and the road, this was a great reassurance as we face a dual carriage way. In addition, when we reviewed the plans a soundproof wall was clearly there. This sold the house to us, knowing firstly that our sleep... (read more)

Please do not waste your money, I though buying a new build be would be less problematic than an old building, but their shoddy work has proved otherwise. I have had nothing but problems - severe mould (which apparently is not their fault!) after a year and a half the property has still not dried out, and ruined my belongings and mattress. I have just realised my lino is destroyed, when I pulled it up, it seems the connection on the washing machine (fitted by Bloor) is leaking, and has... (read more)

I put a deposit down to buy a new bloor homes property in November and after that the sales staff were not interested and very rude. The solicitors that they insisted we use because of the short 28 day exchange of contract deadline got fired by their own company 4 days before exchange. Upon moving in the snagging inspection found around 200 issues. This included very poor paint work, poor tiling on the roof, extractor fans that didn't work and scratches all over the windows. Two months... (read more)

Before you purhcase they are all lovely, as soon as purchase the property you can not get hold of any one. promises of sending an engineer out 3 time for one small issue, they never show up. Electrics that dont work, telephone/TV points not set up properly, front door buzzers not working which resulted in a burglary. Never met a company with such disregard for after sales service! Promises to be called back, never happens, ask to speak to a person they are never at their desk, sending... (read more)

Bloor homes were quick to offer us all sorts of help to buy our property knowing full well I was in the armed forces. When I found out I was posted away after three years they refused to allow me let the property out as we bought the property 75/25. They never once at any point during the sale mentioned this would be the case even though the sales womens Husband was also in the forces and knew that chances are I'd eventually be posted away fromt he area. We had a long list of snags that were fixed by Bloor's excellent maintenance man (Steve) within the first 2 years. just after moving in during a very cold winter the central heating failed. We were supplied with a rusty old heater from their site office to see us through the weekend. Plumber arrived and blamed the problem on the electrician. The electrician came and blamed it on the plumber. An independent expert was called in who said the plumbing was wrongly installed. Plumber came... (read more)

I purchased a Bloor Homes luxury apartment 2 years after it was built and therefore under an NHBC guarantee. Thank goodness I didn't pay the full price that the original owner had. They use shoddy trades, are a danger and squirm out of any responsibility to put things right. My boiler stopped working and my (highly qualified) heating engineer told me how it hadn't been fitted properly according to manufacturer guidelines. After many emails and multiple calls to them, Bloor sent out their own... (read more)

Have lived in brand new home for just over year and have had constant problem with excessive condensation that has left the loft insulation dripping wet and water marks actually coming through the ceiling. Have been in constant battle with Bloor to resolve problem to be told at first the breathable membrane is not working correctly so they fit spacers to then be told it is not a problem it's due to the drying out process. Also have mould growing up the walls and on the ceiling but... (read more)

we have been fighting for 2years with neighbours over a fault with the bricks used (Norcott brick) chimneys and walls are crumbling with frost damage We have paid for an expert witness survey and solicitors fees The Zurich gaurantee issued is not worth the paper its written on.They pay out to some claims on driveway construction and then disallowed same fault on our property, However the faulty brick is the most dangerous fault. Bloor agree the brick is faulty but are trying to force the... (read more)

Very helpful, friendly, and resolve issues (not many) quickly.
If you paid the asking price then your to blame not the sales staff or Bloorhomes, there job is to get as much as possible for the house. So be prepared to haggle, and wait. I managed to get £135,00o of the asking price.
Best spec. builder I have seen for a long time and this is coming from an architect, has a small builder feel and seem to be treat there customers with respect.
Also there houses have a high level of...

Bloor Homes are trying to build 114 homes in my area, there is huge opposition to this as the field they want to build on is riddled with mine shafts, the land is totally unstable, but local councils seem happy to turn a blind eye to any possible shoddy homes being built.
One resident raised concerns that by building these houses on unstable land housers nearby may have their foundations disturbed, bloor homes builder replied, thats their problem not ours.
So with bad attitude like that i certainly wouldnt buy a property from them.
