Absolutely appalling developer and would genuinely and strongly encourage first time buyers to look elsewhere. We moved into our house on Edwalton Park, Nottingham, in October 2022, when after being in the property for a matter of weeks the shower blew cascading water all through the house and into the kitchen and living room. Bloor's initial offer of compensation was to go out for a £40 meal as an apology. They refused to budge and after strong escalation above, a satisfactory redress was offered. Then, after a few months in the property, Severn Trent noticed our water meter spinning and uncovered a huge leak under our drive which meant that the entire drive had to be dug up. This was done over a matter of days with ground-workers who felt it appropriate to take selfies in the "trench" that they had dug. No offer of compensation was offered until a strong escalation was made yet again, the driveway was then resurfaced with inferior tarmac that is now cracking and splitting. 9 months in, we have been receiving appalling broadband since purchasing the property (the site is an OFNL network essentially meaning you are tied to a strict list of broadband and cannot go directly to Sky or TalkTalk for example). We complained to our broadband provider who said they had stated to the developer to not locate the broadband box in the understairs cupboards but they had done so anyway, and offered to monitor our line for a number of months. They then sent an engineer out to our property as they agreed something was amiss, who recently discovered that the ports in the living room and upstairs had never even been connected and were 'missed' by Bloor Homes. This meant that we were unable to bring the router out into a suitable location and as such, fix the poor lapses in network signal. What was Bloor Homes resolution? To simply state - "if this matter had been referred to us sooner, we would have rectified it sooner". Bloor are incredibly defensive and always cite their 5 Star HBF ratings - yet these are irrelevant if they are failing to maintain standards - which they are. We can all live in the past. Our experience was that we consistently had to chase, escalate and micro-manage to get the bare basic levels of respect and communication. We have heard comments from staff about us - with one individual stating "I don't think you're too popular with Head Office" - and, even though this was said in. a rather humorous manner, my partner and I were well aware that this was indeed how Bloor felt about our custom. It appears they far prefer passive customers who daren't pull them up on their poor performance and consistent failures. Snagging our property we uncovered 119 snags and had 3 serious issues going forward (a hole in the fireproofing and the two aforementioned major leaks). Once Bloor have your money - they seem to forget about you as a customer, and I cannot begin to reiterate the stress, anxiety and upset this company has caused. I will now be liaising with NHBC and my MP to take this forward as communication between Bloor has broken down (from Bloor's side).

This company cares for nothing but profit. It bulldozers itself into communties by fighting against local residents to the bitter end and not giving two hoots. It will never give anything back to residents it upsets and whos lives it turns upside down. I've seen lego house kits that build with better quality than anything they produce. If you're thinking of buying one of their homes, dont bother, just check out other reviews

If you are thinking of purchasing a Bloor Home, before you do go and lock yourself in a darkened room and drink your bodyweight in Vodka, the hangover you will get will be much less than the one post purchase. This Company care 'Nothing' for their buyers and will romance you all into believing you will be buying your small piece of heaven when in fact it will be the complete opposite. This company are unscrupulous profit being their only desire. Think before you even consider buying and have that big drink because once purchased drink will be regularly on your menu to dull the pain.

I have lived in my Bloor home for two years - it was built 9 years ago. We’ve had numerous problems but have never complained. However today the top step of the stair case has completely collapsed inwards … I have a massive hole and two children to clamber over it. I contacted Bloor who said In my opinion I don’t believe the stairs are substandard or poorly fitted or this would not have performed as it should for the past nine years.” So, they actually do not think a staircase collapsing in after 9 years is substandard and have said they will do nothing. I now have two children in a house with no functioning staircase

Mr R Sarraff, managing Director, is as bad as his management team. Terrible build quality, management refuse to fix basic snags and head office not interested. Will never buy with this company again.

Bought a house from Bloor Homes at Thame Meadows, a development just outside Oxford. Have had multiple issues, 2 of which have just completely ruined the experience of moving into a new home and had an impact on my quality of life. These issues have dragged on for more than a year. The first of which is to do with rattling sounds from the roof when the wind blows. This was discovered to be due to large broken tile fragments left in the underlay and roof tiles not being tacked down properly. It has taken multiple visits and complaints to Customer Care (South Midlands) and the roofing subcontractor before arriving at the problem, with the usual of people being sent out denying there is a problem, not inspecting the roof carefully and lack of continuity with different people coming out each time. The second issue is also noise related with loud metallic sounds from the hot water cylinder. Again this has dragged on for more than a year with really poor communication and follow up from the subcontractor. Whilst many of the other minor issues have been sorted out efficiently, the same cannot be said about major issues in relation to subcontractors and it is disappointing that the approach by the customer service from Bloor Homes is that it has nothing to do with them with very little follow up unless they are chased. I have purchased the house from Bloor Homes and not from the subcontractors and so they should take responsibility for shoddy work on the house or poor responses from the subcontractors in dealing with issues. I recommend people with intractable issues with Bloor Homes also bring their plight to the attention of the papers like the home section of the Sunday Times.

We purchased a 4 bed detached property on Walpole Meadows, Essex and moved in Christmas 2018. We still have disputes now and the communal grounds are in a terrible state. Bloor haven't even handed over the site to the maintenance company because they are not willing to take responsibility for the mess they are taking on. Bloor's attitude is clear...do the bear minimum to every house, 50% they will get away with, 30% they will have to come back and deal with the things that wouldn't pass NHBC and 20% of their customers, who actually want a house finished to a similar standard to what they were sold in the show home, will fight for their rights. Be very aware that getting a home finished to the standards promised is going to be a 2 year slog of countless e-mails, false promises and meetings with so called senior management, who honestly couldn't run a bath, most people would give up . I am not talking about small snags either, I am talking about chips on worktops, poorly laid amtico flooring, uneven walls, dents in sinks, flooded driveways (which is still a problem now), urine left in the roof space, which gives you an indication of some of the people that work at Bloor, the list really is endless. If you would like to contact me I can give you a full run down of the issues. I would just like to do my best to make sure they never sell a property again.

I moved in just over 4 years ago. They wrote to me and visited about 1 year later to tell me they hadn’t insulated it as the contractor let them down. They did a pretend survey a few months later on the hottest October night and then wrote to tell me it’s fine. Well the gates were locked so he couldn’t have got in and didn’t see him on the camera! It’s not. It’s cold and draughty. I bought a new house so I would not have to worry about being cold or draught excluder etc etc. So tonight at 60 years old I’m in my hands and knees taping up the front door. Back door. Patio doors. I’ve had them adjusted numerous times but it’s cheap rubbish. Oh. And we can’t have a bath when it’s consistently cold as the pipes freeze. Don’t buy in Wellington Somerset

We recently moved into the development at Blythe Valley Park in Solihull. The saleS staff where excellent, the onsite team for snagging and issues were good to a point but now that we have been put under the responsibility of head of customer care they couldn’t care less! Despite massive issues with our home, for example when the flooring company were at our property to fix down some lifting Amtico flooring, the boss let slip that the reason the flooring was starting to lift was because the floor had been incorrectly sealed before damp proofing. As a result the whole of the downstairs flooring needed replacing (kitchen, hall, utility, downstairs toilet) for several days no-one could walk on the floor so we had to make urgent arrangements for our young children and dog. We still have some outstanding issues which are spoiling our home and certainly not what we thought we would be having to deal with when we purchased. Our dream home has been badly tainted by the corner-cutting during construction and now the dreadful customer care. I would advise talking to some existing residents before buying a Bloor Home to get an accurate view of their experiences.

This company is careless. Does not care about residents living near the building site. Does not care about animals or the environment. I would not recommend to anyone at all! Horrible horrible horrible

I don't know why but we were treated with some kind of prejudice. We were basically told we couldn't afford there homes by three separate plot developments in the Oxfordshire area. Its incredibly offensive and unprofessional to treat any customer this way, when in fact we are looking to buy well within our budget.

We have bought a house on Cranfield Park from Bloor. Every aspect of why i didnt want to buy a new build from a developer like Bloor was verbally sorted via the sales team. Now we have bought the house and one by one the stories are now coming out. Would not recommend Bloor at Cranfield park in any aspect. We are now stuck with a house we do not want.

I purchased from Bloors 6 years ago, 3 weeks after moving in I realised that the two adjacent properties were Social Housing. I went to the Bloors Sales Office and was told by the Salesperson there that she didn't know this, obviously not true. I have had the most miserable 6 years of my life due to this and nuisance tenants who the Social Housing Group will do nothing about. I am now in the process of selling my house and have been told by my Solicitor that to enable my sale to proceed it is necessary for my purchaser to enter into a Deed of covenant with Bloors to enable Bloors to produce a Certificate of Compliance for the Land Registry, I am being required to pay £108 for this and my buyer £120 , this is wrong and immoral. I shall no longer be bound by the terms of the Restrictive Covenants and so should not be required to pay Bloors anything. I can only assume that this is a nice little money making scheme on Bloors part as seemingly each and every time a Bloors house is re sold the seller and the prospective purchaser will be required to pay........THIS IS WRONG

I bought a house from Bloor Homes with a faulty conservatory. Bloor hired their own trusted partner to conduct a survey which concluded that substantial amounts of work were needed to remedy the problem. On the back of this report Bloor Homes wrote to us saying they wouldn't do anything about it. So unprofessional, incompetent and inconsiderate.

I have bought a home in Winslow. Since moving in there has been nothing but problems. The house is crumbling, there is a hole and leaking in the roof which I’m still waiting for them to come and fix it. The road outside was suppose to have been done serval times and prosponed several times, which has blocked me in. Being self employed it is vital that I can get out to do my job. I would be more understanding if this was the first time but it’s the THIRD. I asked the workers if they could wait 5 minutes to let me past they just laughed and carried on working. When they did finally do our road they blocked the whole pass so the bin men couldn’t even walk past to get the rubbish so we had food sitting around for a fortnight, festering in our bins, it’s not like council tax is free! Bloor have not responded back to me. The after care is poor, the staff don’t care, they have your money why should they? Especially with how much these house’s cost. Since my wife and I moved in they have been through several site managers. They have been behind with all their completions and had a gas leak right across the road from me. Friends have had toilet leaks where they had to replace all the floors. I wouldn’t even give this company one star but I didnt have the choice of that! IF I HAD THE CHOICE I WOULDN’T CHOOSE BLOOR AGAIN.

BLOORS HOMES .... based all over the UK. Cheap. Nasty. Money grabbing. Vile. Do not give them your money. They take it and run. Twenty months, dozens of emails, several meetings, and phonecalls. Now they tell us they don't want to do the repairs listed on our 10 day and six month list! We have door handles missing. Doors that don't close. A bedroom we can't sleep in. An extractor fan that isn't fitted. Vile. Arrogant. Nasty. Cheap. Do not believe a single solitary word that their Sales team, Customer Services team and, Management team say to you. They are rotten to the core. There are nicer houses and far better companies out there. Bloors Homes are dishonourable and should be very ashamed of themselves. Please feel free to share this email far and wide. Please contact me if you would like the details that prove what are vile company Bloor Homes are. Oh and don't trust a supposed NHBC guarantee .... they are not worth the paper they're written on! Please please share and warn people before they part with their hard earned funds. If this post protects even one family from going through the stress, grief, expense and downright misery that Bloors have put us through then it's worth it.

Just read your complaint ..I too have a Bloor home, moved in December 2016.
Not had any reason to go into loft but had an electrician to do some work.
While in the loft he has noticed that non of my extractor fans are connected to the outside.
So all my steam which I thought I was extracting out, has been going int the loft ,under the insulation.
To say I am livid is an understatement .
Have had to send off photos, and found the certificate out.
This states it has fixed induction pipe and figures to say how much air is being inducted out..
What a load of rubbish !
Now waiting for their response !

Absolute disgusting company feel I had to write this review as it go back some 8 years ago but still leave a really bad taste to this day. My wife and myself found our then dream home which was being built in Norwich by bloor and decided to buy. We had sold our house and had advised that is was in a chain and we’re fine with how things were moving along so therefore took our deposit of 5k. As weeks went on Bloor decided to sell this Plot to another person without any communication to ourselves and once I found out there was several discussions and obviously asking for my deposit back they refused to do even though they had sold the plot.... this caused us real distress for weeks and still leaves me with real hatred to this company. To make things worse about a year on the house come up for sale by the people who bought this plot for which we went to view and we got talking and managed to keep our cool they said that they bought the property at a reduced rate as the previous buyers had apparently pulled out as they were an old and disabled couple who couldn’t proceed with the purchase. So Bloor its now my time to try and hurt you with reviews all over the net as much as I can with reviews like this and hopefully people see this and think twice in purchasing from you.

We purchased a new Astley home on the Windrush Place development from Bloor Homes off-plan in February 2018 and moved in at the end of July 2018. The staff have always been very helpful, responsive, conscientious and polite. The purchase was smooth and we experienced no slippage in dates. The build quality of our home is of very high quality and any snags have been dealt with swiftly and effectively by the team. Bloor understand that whilst they are selling houses, their customers are buying a home. I genuinely can't compliment them highly enough. We have a lovely home built to a high standard in a lovely location.

We were planning to purchase a property from Bloor Homes and 4 weeks before the moving date they rescinded our contract on the basis that the exchange of contract was taking too long. They did this with no warning or notice given and when we contacted Bloor Homes’ CEO he basically backed his staff up. This decision was made bearing in mind that we could actually exchange contract on that day (but they still refused to allow the purchase) and the fact that THEY postponed the completion date by 8 weeks in total! 2 days after rescinding the contract the house was back on sale for £11k more than we were due to purchase it!! There is only 1 customer Bloor Homes is interested in, that is Bloor! Some of the ways they deal with their so-called customers are border line intimidating. A lot of smiles when you are buying but once they have got the sale they don’t like to be challenged (we have experienced this when we asked questions about the unacceptable delays).

My kitchen flooring has an 8 inch cut on it which was obviously caused by some idiot cutting some lino on it they don't want to know. Only moved in December.
