Slipknot is a great band that shows metal is far from dead. and they make us smile at the end of this world. no matter what mood your in, they have a song to rock out to it. and make you lose yourself in the madness that is hardcore metal. i think there name will live on in their music for a long time to come. slipknot gave me some really cool songs to rock out to. they gave meaning behind there music and put together something to listen to insted of all the losers that try to do metal. and... i had already bought one album by this band and this was the next one it was quite cheap unlike the other one i bought and i think it's pretty good the best and and stand - out songs being psychosocial, dead memories, sulfur,snuff,all hope is gone & gematria (the killing name)from the album and the rest of the album was good as well.
i liked it in it's ways it wasn't complete stand out but it was to my satisfactory i think between vol 3. (the subliminal verses) and this their style has...

Slipknot, All Hope Is Gone. While this isn't as hard, or 'screamo' as previous albums (Vol. 3), it's an amazing album with some beautiful songs. It's more mainstream than their other music. (read more)

This album is a deliciously dark medley of darkness and... lesser darkness? With bone-crunching tracks like "Gematria" and "Psychosocial" setting the pace for the album, the band still finds time to tempt us with some lighter melodies, (Snuff) and some darkly gothic harmonies (Gehenna) overall, one of the best albums of the year. If you loved both IOWA and Vol.3 you will absolutely fall in love with All Hope Is Gone, Execute/Germatria(the Killing Name), This Cold Black, Wherein Lies Continue and All Hope Is Gone bring the IOWA sound back with heavier riffs and amazing short solos. Where as songs like Sulphur and Dead Memories revive the Vol.:3 sound with some slight changes on the vocal style, most evidently in the choruses of Psychosocial and Gehenna which has Corey Taylor singing in the highest notes ever heard on...
