Hillarys Blinds treatment of existing customers who have payed money for a high quality service is disgusting. I have been waiting 4 months for wooden shutters to be fitted. Last Wednesday the fitter arrived and within an hour had left, leaving a window bare of shutters and holes all across the window, due to the fact the fitter had measured the shutter incorrectly. “Overpriced rubbish”

We purchased blinds for our conservatory, £3000.00 in total. We chose an electric system for the roof blinds and were given an electric drill with an attachment. It worked for all if 5 minutes and to date (2years later) I am still waiting. The roof blinds do not slide up and down very well, 4 of them are stuck halfway. Hillary's have said the guarantee has expired (by a week) therefore they will not repair or replace. Do not buy blinds from these people… Read Full Review

“Fraudulent and unprofessional - AVOID”

What a truly FRAUDULENT and unprofessional company! DO NOT USE HILLARYS EVER. Their fitters are self employed and often do extremely poor fittings and overcharge by thousands of pounds. That is assuming that turn up at all. Our fitter quoted £4500 and refused to give breakdowns for all the curtains. When he realised he could not cheat us, he asked for £2000. Having recently moved house I contacted your company between Christmas and New Year to arrange an appointment to get a quotation for blinds. Was about to place an order for shutters, but after reading reviews here I contacted the company as I was worried that the fitters were not employed by them. Customer service confirmed they were "trained" by Hillarys but could not elaborate on that. After some gentle prodding it was confirmed to me that the product was made in China, and not in the UK as stated in their ads. We have had three successive fitting appointments cancelled on the day with no prior warning. We have wasted three days off work as a result and whilst we were initially promised a fitting before Christmas, are now looking at the end of January (if they bother turning up then). I ordered 3 wooden venetian blinds. Prior to parting with my money the service was prompt and efficient. However as soon as there was a problem the company has become evasive and avoidant. One of the blinds was measured wrongly. The fitter blamed the company and they him. He promised that he would replace the blind on 22nd December. “Not fit for purpose”

Bought a wide venetian blind that is fine except for one thing. It easily goes up but is difficult to get down. Had fitter come back and he says it happens with a lot of wide blinds because of the number of strings. (A pity this was not explained at the point of sale) he said there was a specific technique for getting the blind down to the window cill and demonstrated and explained that it was easier for him as he did it all the time even though he had some difficulty. This is by far the worst company to buy blinds from. My Mother has just bought a brand new house and thought that this would be perfect for her. However, more than 6 months later, our blinds are still not fitted and the person who did fit them did an awful job. Having failed to delivery the curtains I paid for in full on ordering, failing to inform me of anything along the way, 3 weeks after they were due to be fitted I called them again to be told they had left a message. At first this was on my home phone, then onto my mobile when I confirmed that the phone had no messages at all, was the told by manager "it's easy to claim you haven't got the message". Unfortunately our experience of Hillarys left a lot to be desired. It began quite well and with an appointment booked shortly before Xmas we were pleased that we would have our blinds installed over the xmas holidays. We had 11 blinds fitted and was completely appalled by the service. The lady who measured them said we would be better with a roller blind in the kitchen and when it was fitted he bent the bracket in to make it fit because it is to small. 2 of the bedroom vertical blinds didn't fit properly either one was at least an inch to short and the other not wide enough. I have given one star for delivery and fitting of blinds on time. I will never have anything to do with this company ever again two of the blinds don't even cover the windows, after numerous phone calls and e-mails complaining they eventually sent someone to look at the blinds and although he agreed the blinds didn't cover the windows he said he said he could move them along slightly but would still not cover the window so nothing more could be done, not being happy with this I complained again… Read Full Review

I wish I had read the reviews before agreeing to order with them. They took the full amount off me before fitting the curtains. Promised me to send a cheque but never arrived. Still waiting for an invoice or any paperwork with what I have bought and payment they have received. Still waiting for my wands which I was promised. “Very poor after care”

Ordered a large wooden blind for a bedroom. Measurements done and blind fitted. It was stiff and difficult to raise and lower. Fitter said he wasn't experienced enough to know if that was how it was supposed to be and that he would seek advice. New fitter arrived, after testing it said he would order a new one to be made. Over the past week I have experienced terrible service from Hillarys Blinds, I have spent £1300 on very poor quality blinds and experienced 1st hand how rushed Hillarys staff are to hit their targets and fail to achieve the correct level of quality . Ordered 2 wooden venetians & 2 Roman blinds. Representative failed to inform me that I would need plastic child hooks attached to my walls and that I would also have to dispose of rubbish left by fitter!! I can see the safety reasons behind the hooks as have children myself, but If I had known about child hooks I would have had pull chord instead of chain as struggling to pull blinds up/down with chain as they are so tightly fitted to wall. Ordered blinds through a sales rep who must not have listened to a word I said and when delivered they are not the blinds I wanted at all! Hillarys will not take them back and refund me any money and I am currently following up with a dispute with them to attempt to recover some money. Complete waste of time and £700. Ordered a complete set of Hillarys blinds for the conservatory - electric motorised for the roof blinds, pull cords for the windows. Initially told that the window blinds were 'free' if ordered with roof blinds and that, in ordered before the end of November (2014 ) could be fitted by Christmas....a complete fabrication on both accounts !! “Good quality product but appalling customer service”

We had a design done for wooden shutters to 2 bedrooms. The plan looked good so we proceeded. The designer told us that this design does not have a track but that it would not be an issue. When they were installed the fitter said that the design was wrong and we ought to follow this up. The shutters have no support and have already dropped a fraction making them drag heavily across the carpet when opened.
