“Horrendous Customer Service”

Ordered on the basis of completion date, weren't the cheapest but decided installation date was more important. Fitter turned up later than expected, didn't check blinds were correct before coming. Advised as he was leaving that a number of blinds were incorrect and he couldn't complete the job. Customer Setvices Dept attrocious, imagine double glazing call centre and you won't be far off. “AVOID USING THEM - Shocking Level of Service”

First contact was great with Hillarys blinds. Made an appointment and a specialist arrived to give advice and measure up. He explained that the next stage of the process was survey and fit. You pay 50% when you order and 50% when fitted - of course you need to be there when this happens so I paid up front to enable a family member to be there for the fitting RADIO SILENCE Eventually I get a call from a confused fitter who really wasn't sure what he was coming to do... he didn't call me back… Read Full Review

“no to Hillary's in future”

5 visits so far and the experience just gets worse- first person priced it and took 50% in advance-2nd visit to measure up _3rd visit to fit one small Venetian blind -what a disaster after an hour he left without being paid ! He first fitted the blind which wasn't positioned correctly -not that he realised until I showed him· He then agreed it was a centimetre out· This meant redrilling for the brackets - so left him to it· He was stretching over my sink unit but refused my offer of a step… Read Full Review

I had the most horrible experience of customer service at Hilarys blinds. Watchdog had it put really nicely when they did a run for hilary's blinds service "hilary's do they measure up?". I had a hilary's rep to visit me at home to get a quote for blinds he gave me the quote and also a number 2 in my bathroom which I had to clean up after he left. Despite that I rang to say that I wanted to go ahead with the order and paid for the deposit. He promised that I would hear from Hilary's very soon… Read Full Review

Family up showered, bed made rooms tidy ready for HILLARYS to come & measure up for bedroom blinds. Rep will be here between 9am & 12, waited & waited, no show no phone call Phoned office, girl said she would contact rep & phone me back, No call back. “ hillary blinds do not fit ”

had man round to measure front room and bedroom for vertical blinds,chose the ones we wanted not the cheapest ones because some of the material was very thin, the same man fitted the blinds but was not pleased how they closed because on the corners of the bay windows where the blinds meet there was a gap so when lights on you can see in the room, also fixing screws was left out on main rail, had him back to sort the gap out only he couldent do it said he would come back and take pictures of… Read Full Review

“Poor on line customer service with web-blinds”

Blinds received were over long by two slat widths and therefore did not hang correctly The web-blinds part of Hillarys would not accept any fault was present on their part. Photographs were sent showing the problem but the response was that extra slats are added deliberately to ensure the drop selected is reached. “(Still) disgruntled”

Never having been able to afford a made to measure service while raising the family (let's face it, it's not a cheap option!), we did so on this our latest (and probably last) house move, hoping and expecting to get something a bit more superior. not so far. We are still pleased with our choice of material, and as such the curtains look lovely - if a bit too wide for the pole (even though measurements were taken by the 'consultant'). I've recently moved house and wanted Hillary blinds to fit my blinds before I moved in. That was my first mistake. After some time they actually fitted my blinds very badly. I have contacted the fitter and of course he is not interested he has been paid. My first contact with customer service they refunded 20 pound Wow. “Worst Experience Ever”

Do not touch Hillarys Blinds with a barge pole. I have never experienced such horrendous customer experience in my life. It all started with them first getting the order wrong, charging me twice and then me having to chase for a refund three times. When it finally came to fitting (4 months after the first measurement), I chased the salesman to confirm the fitting date, which they did, took the day as unpaid leave off work and then they never showed. I ordered shutters, was not told of a 10 week lead in despite telling the representative I needed these to be installed in time for our holiday let business going live within four weeks. She took the deposit. When I found out I was told nothing could be done. Then eventually was offered a refund - in 14 days. Do not use this company whatsoever I wish I had read the reviews of this complete and utter expensive ripoff merchants ever. I had a appointment date on the 4th of march for my ripoff expensive curtains to be fitted, guess what! “Excellent service”

The ordering process and the install was painless and the service was brilliant. Post sale support is also excellent, I took the blind down for the first time this weekend and have developed an issue with one of the mounting brackets. I called customer service this morning and I had the option of either someone coming round to have a look at the problem or they could send me the parts in the post free of charge. “Dont bother ! ”

Unfortunately I have to award at least one star .. Hilary's representative came to my house on 28th Jan and measured up for 6 large blinds , so this was a sizeable order . He seemed like a nice chap When I hadnt heard anything 10 days later I rang Hilary's . They promised to call him and also email him to find out why no quote had materialised. “Disorganised”

I was pressured into buying my shutters before the Christmas rush and was told had a 6 week wait. I paid my deposit. Two days before the fitting was due I was called by the fitter saying my shutters have been lost and there is no way of locating them on a weekend. Then got a call 3 days later saying the shutters had been found and they a organised a new fitting date 2-3 weeks after the original date. “Poor fitting blinds”

I have purchased blinds from Hillary's before and they were fine - but these new ones I bought from them are terrible - there are big gaps in the verticals letting light in, and giving no privacy. I would definitely not recommend them to a friend - they could have redeemed themselves when I spoke to Customer Care this morning - but quite frankly they were not very helpful. I chose three appointment times with your on line service. I received a time and date for Tuesday January 27. 01.15 arriving between 12-3pm. nobody came, I then sent a email informing you of this, that same evening I received a phone call the lady in question told me my appointment had been changed to the following week on the Wednesday. I had an appointment for the 4th of march 2015 for my curtains and blind to be fitted between 12-3pm, I waited in all day but no one turned up i telephoned customer services who left a message on the salesman mobile phone to telephone me, but again no message . I am talking about £1000 curtains not cheap but i thought I was getting the best what a joke. Iam still waiting for the salesblike who came to my house to make contact I have left a message on his mobile, do not use this company whatsoever I wish I had cancelled my order in the first 2 days I will be going to NEXT in future Anyone thinking of having new curtains stay away from HILARYS COMPLETE RIPOFF

I should have paid more attention to the poor reviews on this site! Booking an appointment online seemed easy, my 1st, 2nd and 3rd preferences were Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening....... Hillary's duly booked my appointment for Thursday morning! Not a good start but I was willing to give them a chance. We finally agreed on an evening that suited both ourselves and the rep then I waited..... And waited.... And waited! No show, no phone call, no email....nothing.
