we purchased the hilary blinds after seeing the advert, 50% off plus a further 10% if ordered before X date. We said to the advisor we can only afford the ones that are on promotion so dont worry about the expensive ranges. The advisor showed me one and said this is usually £400 for one window roman blind, he did some calculations then said so after discount £300, I said thats not 60%, oh yes sorry he said, I can do that all in with fitting for £500. “Awful after sales experience. Would not recommend.”

This is the second time I have used Hilarys and unfortunately the second time I have experienced poor customer service after parting with my money. Their customer services line are not well connected to the actual fitters - often when calling to chase them on appointment times for measuring, fitting, or being unable to get a response from my fitter directly the central customer services line will just try their mobile while I'm on the phone and then tell me they can't get through to them… Read Full Review

“customer services are a disgrace”

Having to complain about a rep. the customer service was absolutely terrible. They promise to ring you back but never ever do. ~They promise you all-sorts but fail to keep them. One manager in customer services when asked why they hadn't rang back as promised said in a condescending manner, 'she was busy, and didn't always have time to ring back', like, 'what are you bothering me for'. “Roof Blinds - Very Poor Product And After Sales Service ”

Having paid £4000 for 20 conservatory roof blinds I am very disappointed with the product and after sales service. within the first year I had 6 of 20 of the roof blinds fail. The service engineer, the original fitter came out three times to deal with problems. Three did not shut or open correctly and three had to be sent back to the factory to be repaired. so disappointed as blinds don't fit and curtains too long plus left their rubbish on my floor. Rang the adviser first to give him the chance to sort and he never had the courtesy to ring me back. Rang Hillary's and have been passed round the houses for the last 2 days and still have no one booked to come out and address my complaint. “Fitting is terrible”

We have 40 windows and 2 blinds have recently just fallen down. This was around 18 months ago. As we're out of the 12 month warrnty period, Hillarys will not send anyone unless we "pay them before they fix the problem" I've never had a mirror or shelf fall down - and I'm a real novice at DIY so their fitting is questionable. Just over a year ago I bought patio door perfect fit blinds and a bathroom roller blind. The agent who came to advise was very helpful and fitted the blinds well. I am delighted with the patio doors but not so with the bathroom blind. It is ok. It is thick black with a bold grey and white print on it. “Disgraceful beyond words!”

Booked an appointment weeks ago & they didn't bother turn up on the day - or ring to cancel. I waited and waited .....no co tact at all. Rang them for an update, they assured me theyd sort it ASAP - nothing. No call, no email, nothing at all. It's a disgrace that they continue to advertise on tv & press how good they are, but they obviously can't live up to their promises. Call centre staff excellent, unfortunately the level of professionalism stopped there! “Poor service ”

A man from Hillarys came round to provide a quote. We found him very unhelpful and we felt he instantly had decided that we were not worth his time. (Maybe because we only wanted 4 small blinds?) He couldn't be bothered to talk us through the products, he provided us with no advice and we felt like asking any questions was troubling him. I wonder if you live on the Surrey,Hants/Berks border because your experience with the Hillary's representative is exactly the same as ours, including the 2 days a week fitting stipulation. However, you're luckier than us - we persevered with Hillary's and bought blinds for the front and curtains for the back of our house. We are now on our third lot of blinds and second lot of curtains and I'm still not happy with either.

In short the advisor measured up wrong so could not fit them on the day, messed about with fitting times, fitting items the wrong way round, had differnt size control sticks on items. They are like some cheap economy range, they do not open and shut and sadly I paid the full amount before realising the issue as I had not checked them out after fitting. Now I am wasting even more time trying to resolve it with customer service who could not care less....... So wish I had done a search before… Read Full Review

Cost a fortune and could have had better blinds from a local company for a quarter of the price they charged the blinds have never been right the man who measured and fitted them was the most arrogant man I have ever met he came with half the fittings short and made a mess of them and kept changing dates to fit them , my advice avoid thematic all costs… Read Full Review

If you have a problem with your blinds, Hilary's customer service is very poor. They promised numerous telephone calls and never delivered. Got two of my orders wrong and were not interested in putting it right, they just wanted the money. Use a good local blind company instead… Read Full Review
