I am from Ashton Under-Lyne. Getting on with Red Driving school initially felt a bit expensive but its worth the money. My instructor was fantastic. He trained me in the best way and I felt very confident when at the test. I had my provisional 30 years ago, and after 2 failed attempts at trying to pass my driving test I had given up ! I learned to drive 12 years ago at home in Ireland, and failed twice there. I then moved to the UK, and haven't driven since. Nathan Green was my instructor and helped me to pass my test with confidence :) I found my test easy and that was because i knew what i was doing and i was more than confident in the way Nathan had taught me. I had been learning for 20yrs on and off but when I went on the red website I felt confident . I phoned the call centre on the 26th march and the guy that I spoke was great he booked my first 6 lessons with phil grant. At first i thought that 25 pound per lesson was a little bit expensive but we went through everything possible into great detail, this meant i was extremley confident by the time my test came. I learnt to drive with RED driving school in the Upton area, my instructors name is Stuart Raphel. My driving lessons we're great, Stuart really helped me gain confidence on the road with a relaxed atmosphere within the car. I passed my driving test today and i want to do the pass plus scheme with Stuart in a few weeks. He helped me learn small tricks and tips for manoeuvres that made me test passable. As a mother with a young baby, I was not very flexible with my availability for lessons but this was never a problem and my instructor did her best to accommodate me mostly on weekends when I had childcare. I don't write reviews very often but feel compelled to do so about red driving school. I originally purchased a block of 10 lessons for my wife and was assigned a driving instructor for her. Suffice to say he messed us around and in the end claimed 4 hours off the block booking which my wife never actually did. On submitting my review Red, were quick to get back to me regarding the issues I raised. I spoke to a nice woman called Sam who investigated the complaint but did not resolve the issues regarding the level of teaching from the particular instructor involved. Just to clarify, I'll update the review to say that customer services were pleasant enough and contacted me when they said they would. The complaints regarding the instructor stand as my wife, after two hours with a new instructor (Lavery Driving School, Stepps), is now happily learning in the test area of Glasgow. I still think that the six hours spent with Red were a waste of time and money that would have been better spent on an able driving instructor.

We gave our nephew a RED 2 hour voucher, courtesy of Tesco Clubcard. The first lesson booked online through RED was cancelled by the instructor, excuse, having an early break, he then told my nephew to book direct with him and that RED instructors were not vetted. All of the instructors are self employed and buy into a franchise from Red. So it isn't their fault.. You asked them for an instructor, they provided. Red aren't supposed to know if a driving instructor they welcome on their franchise is going to do such a thing..
