Bad Points: running costs (17mpg) if your lucky parts arnt cheap from nissan and some have to come from japan. rust can be an issue brakes are rubbish as standard
General comments: Extremely fast. Very tunable. Practical. Lots of fun, very reliable if serviced with good oil.
Best car I have owned, beats everything with 4 wheels of the lights.still an incredibly fast hot hatch after 17 years even if it is just a Nissan Sunny.

Over all the Nissan Pulsar Gtir I think is a great little road car, when the car is set up just a little over the factory spec (strut brace, boost exh, intake and semi slicks, clutch, breaks) every thing is still strong enough to handle the xtra power, and handles well as well. Great little track car on week ends drive there and home again also good on fuel for the power. This is not your standard comuter vehical in a class of its own.

I would advice anyone to buy one! They are really fun to drive with all the reliability of any jap car! Just a simple upgrade of a boost controller from standard will see 300bhp! Very cost effective power! I wouldn't sell mine for the world!

All you guys going on about how fast your cars go get a life, we have a 70 mph top speed limit in the UK!
And ask for scooby's and evo's yes they are super cars, yes you can get great power out of them, but they are the new xr2i come saxo, everyone has one they are common as muck.

Going from a tx3 laser turbo I was a bit nervous getting in to the Pulsar. i have the gtir sr20 turbo in a four door sss body converted to a 2 wheel drive. probably 10% quicker then the four wheel drive (hard to hang on to at high boost) only paid 8 grand for it and definitely worth the money only 120 thousand on the clock . fully lowered to hug the road running 12 pound boost and can easily handle more but the price of fuel at the moment kinda wears a hole in my pocket . over all very happy wi ...

I really would not consider buying a Nissan Pulsar unless you understand cars or know someone who does. These cars are old, they were largely not for UK anyway (only 53 actually marketed here) and keeping them on the road will be a pain if you are not a mechanic or don't have backup from one capable of dealing with a relatively rare car. On the plus side people are always crashing them so anything from the bonnet back is usually available from online forums at less expense than you probably thin ...

Takes very well to mods, the engines are very strong, as well as the the 4 wheel drive system. Just the boxes are known to go but like I said above mines been fine and my mate has 380 bhp for 5 years and still on the same box, the standard intercooler if sat in traffic for 5 mins will get hot and sap power but soon cools, and you can get front mounted versions for £200 now, the brakes are bad, but fitting good pads helps improve them, also there are many uprated kits available for these ca ...

I wanted to buy a Cosworth when I saw a Nissan Pulsar for sale I knew they were fast so I took it for a spin, and really liked it I didnt buy that one but I got one within a week. It's just standard at the moment, but it's fast and so much fun to drive. I've driven lots of cars and this puts a smile on my face every time. The engine is brill it revs so freely, unusual for a turbo runs in to the red line and keeps on going with power. The turbo lag is very good more like a modern turbo car. Th ...

What can I say I have owned my Nissan Pulsar GTi R for a few months. Its had no probs so far. Runing 354bhp the speed restricter is still on and set to 118mph the car could easily see 160mph+ 0-60 is around 4.5secs. I only use the car as a weekend car. I payed £6,000 for my pulsar l reg with 35,000 miles full service one owner and with all engine mods by norris designs. I love this car.

Ive owned my 1993 Nissan Pulsar GTI-R for 6 months now. It has done 100,000KM and had been brilliantly looked after by the previous one owner.
When I took the car for a test drive 6 months ago, I loved the power, the lack of body roll around corners and the price ($10,000 NZD is usual).
After owning the car for a while, here is what i've learnt.
-traction in a straight line is GREAT because of the 4wd.
-The factory clutch burns out after just a few launches, and if you fit a strong ...

The pulsar is a nice hot hatch, it very quick and handles well also! for the money spent its well worth getting one, the only problem is, unfortunately there are just as many cons as there are pros! They just keep going wrong! read on for a 100% honest appraisal of the NIssan Gti-R

I drive a black pulsar gti-r. On a L plate it has only covered 56,000 miles. Fast is not the word. I've dusted m3s, evos, supras at traffic lights it handles like a beauty. I woudn't change it for anything!!!

I just brought a GTi-R, to me I have never driven a car that is so nice, it handles like a jem, this car is worth every penny.
It is the best car in the world.
I have driven VR 4s, Evo 5 and 3, and they are nothing compared to a GTi-R.

I wasn't completely impressed by the Nissan Pulsar gti-r - i much prefer my WRX. A little more power would be nice too. Handling wasn't too bad but the car just didn't sit right on the road.

The Nissan Pulsar GTi-R is simply the best car I have ever been in/driven in my entire life. Definitely not a car for the faint hearted, nor for commuting in, but if you want a weekend car, BUY ONE!!
