Good Points: Loved the pace, the fascinating background of the Spanish Civil War, and the novel coming full circle as it comes back to the present day closing all gaps on the Ramirez/Hayes families
Bad Points: Very hard to find any - all the detail of the Civil War was maybe unnecessary but it all added to build the culture of Spain, both then and now
General comments: Even better than The Island though it followed the same framework. A wonderfully rounded novel which brought the Spanish Civil War with all its brutality and deprivations to life, as well as providing good cultural background on the flamenco and bull-fighting. I love and was gripped by the story - this is the best book I have read this year and I can't wait for her next!!!
