This handset should come with a health warning!
My excitement at being in receipt of this all singing, all dancing 8.1MP camera phone was short lived. Six weeks after entering an 18month contract with the 3 Network through the high street store Phones4U, the ear piece stopped working rendering the phone element useless so it was returned to Phones4U who refused to replace it because it had exceeded the 6 weeks they give for a full refund and so it went to be repaired, I had afterall entered into an 18 month contract and now had no phone after just 8 weeks!!! It transpired that this would be the first of many trips my handset would make to the factory for repair and each time it was for a different problem. By the time the third problem occurred I was understandably fed up but my stress levels continued to climb as Phones4U then washed their hands of their responsibility, my contract was with them, and left me to deal with 3 direct. The guys in the high street store were very helpful but communications over the phone were difficult due to language barriers and following scripts but they did at least try to understand and put the problem right.
I fulfilled my part of an 18 month contract thanks to an old handset - my C905 gave up the ghost long before the contract's expiry BUT I cannot say that Sony Ericsson, 3 and especially Phones4U have fulfilled theirs. I feel totally let down by all three establishments and as a result have reverted back to a Nokia handset, cancelled my very expensive contract with 3 and now use PAYG and to top it off, I get all of the benefits bar an expensive phone that doesn't work for a fraction of the price I was paying.

I waited a year and half to get this phone, and I finally got it less than half of the original price. That was fine. My speakers are still good; camera, perfect. Most prominent problem after two months of purchase and immediately after first update was difficulties in charging; completely annoying. It just wouldn't charge, making me feel like my charger is bad, when I have two more chargers from previous phones. I have to depend on the USB wire, before sending it in for repairs. Secondly is, during a conversation, the line goes silent like the other party is on hold without me pressing the hold button, yet minutes are counting. I am yet to discover problems.

I have a c905, was pretty cool the first time, 2 months after my speakers went dud. i had to send for repairs and took another 2 months to get it.
-speakers a dud.
-battery life a dud.
-key pads a dud.
-it's bulky.
i would never recommend this to a anyone. unless you just want it for it's camera which is a bad idea. you could just buy a generic digital camera with a cheaper price than buying this C905. thanks a lot sony

I got a Sony Ericsson c905 in Nov 2008 as my bday gift. It have a stunning look with 8.1 megapixel Camera. But unfortunately its one of the worst models I have ever seen. Its not been an year old piece but it needed service for every 1month duration. So it was in the service centre for more period rather than with me. I just got irritated with its functionality. The re-sale value is also tooooo low where as the piece was damn expensive. C905 SUCKS. Guys I advice all not to go for this model anytime.

This is the worst fone I have ever had!!wouldn't recommend it to any1!!battery life is woeful!!only lasts one day-needs to be charged every nite. i am currently awaiting it to be repaired for a second time in 4 weeks.(bear in mind the fone is only seven weeks old!!) phones 4 u have admitted there is a bad batch of these phones about but they wont replace the fone!have to send it for repair every time.it keeps resetting itself to default setting and it wont recognize my Sim card. i went to charge it and it said 'battery cannot be charged. please use a Sony ericsson battery!!!!' The only good thing about this phone is the camera and even the pictures i had taken were deleted off my phone when it took on a mind of its own. DON'T buy this phone. u will regret it!!I'm suck with it now for 24months :(

Sony Ericsson C905 is a very stylish and well put together phone. The camera and videos are excellent, and it is very easy to use. I didn't have any issues with battery life, and found the internet was pretty decent and quick.
Unfortunately I have had a number of problems and am on my 3rd replacement, which is suffering from the same problem. Doesn't pick up signal where other phones do, and will not make calls even when showing signal sometimes. I have tried the sim card in my K700i which works perfectly. My c905 wont pick up signal, and if it does have signal, 90% of the time incoming calls go straight to answerphone and I recieve an SMS informing me of a missed call. This happens when I have full signal!
I am quite dissapointed, as I have had plenty of SE phones before and no problems (all still working!) but this one, for all its otherwise excellent features, fails at it's main purpose - making calls!
I would seriously advise against purchasing this phone! If you need a good camera, the c902 has a 5mp one which produces pretty good photos, that may be a good alternative if you still want a SE, but one that works!
Mine is orange branded (UK), running orange software.

I have had several diffierent makes of mobile since 1993 including Sony Ericsson mobile phones since the T610 & the C905 is the worst mobile I have ever had.
The ear piece unit breaks on early models, so you cant hear your call, so it has to go away to be fixed.
The key pads can collapse so you cant press certain buttons correctly.
Early phones can refuse to acknowledge your sim card, so yes
I would NOT advise anyone to buy (as I did) or upgrade to one of these.

I may have had a bad apple in the batch but I thought the phone was very overrated even if it had worked. I would recommend anyone getting this phone to make sure they test it heavily in the free return period of their contract (first 7 days). After that its proving to be a nightmare to return... (although finally successful.)
