I'm so frustrated with the microphone's volume problem. If you have too much volume on the mic, it won't receive any sounds what so ever. So you can't use "auto adjust volume" in any application. And you can't use any application where you can't disable the "auto adjust volume".

Pretty good camera, excellent mic, software, terrible, really awful.
the driver enables automatic microphone volume, which turns the mic up to 100% randomly, once at 100% the output stops totally, 0% volume.
this option cannot be disabled unless the driver is uninstalled.
without the driver and bundled software the webcam operates at the lowest possible resolution.
the driver and software are very bloated, logitech only offer email support and they do not respond at all to complaints (sent=4, re ...

Logitech QuickCam E3500 Software is badly designed and seems pretty bloated. Kept freezing the cam while on Yahoo Messenger, then crashing Yahoo, and the problem didn't go away until I uninstalled the software. Without the software you can't take pictures or use their 'fun filters,' but then I have a proper camera for goofing around. Works fine just plug and play. Good for the money.

I have given low marks for installation and ease of use because of the amount of time I have wasted on finding out that this webcam lacks the functionality I need.
Functionality that I would expect to be standard for any webcam (e.g digital zoom) is not available for this Logitech QuickCam E3500.
The website claims some functionality is available on this which isn't (digital zoom, intelligent face tracking).
The support line appear clueless about the functionality of this product.
    The packaging ...

You must remember that you have to instal the software before you plug it in and focus the camera manually by turning the lens. It doesn't frame freeze even on my slow (100 bps) broadband and the sound lip sync is about 95%. Which is more than acceptable. Beware of paying twice the price only to find the picture quality is the the same but with auto focus or movement tracking which are just expensive gimmicks as you are not going to jump up and down while speaking. Don't but the £5- &pou ...

The Logitech quick cam camera is quite poor in my experience I feel... I bought it from curry's digital & it has got a 1.5 mp camera... but the images are just not good enough quality for me. I do not recommend to buy the Logitech QuickCam E3500...
