    Good Points: Awesome machine, great ice-cream and brilliant value for money.


    Bad Points: All refrigerated ice cream makers are quite bulky so make sure you have room to store before you buy. They also don't like being moved about - we keep ours in the utility room where it can live on the work surface. This applies to ALL models, not just Simac.


    General comments: This is Simac Il Gelataio GC 5000 is an excellent ice cream maker with built in refrigeration which means you can simply plug in and end up with great ice cream in about 25 minutes. I have had a £300 Gelatio machine before (Magimix I think) and this machine which retails on line at £189 or on eBay (new) at £130-ish, is every bit as good. Steel bowl, strong paddles (if you over-run the freezing cheaper ones will break - the Magimix's did), good build quality, useful recipe book. As they say - "why pay more"You have not lived until you have tasted crunchy peanut butter ice cream!
