I have my Sony KDL40W4000 connected to Cable by scart lead, a Sony DVD/HD recorder by HDMI and my original Pioneer DVD/HD recorder by Scart. This gives me 3 Freeviews and Cable TV with the option to record Cable and 1 Freeview or 2 Freeviews at same time. Freeview from TV may not be quite as good as from Sony DVD/HD recorder although ariel is the same?, but still very good, maybe imagination. Live in very good Freeview reception area 100% signal strength. Also intend to connect Sony 1080p Blue Ray lap top to play Hi Def DVD's through TV but have not done this yet. The manual could have the explanations on settings expanded on a bit more and not assume you know what the result will be if you choose it.
