I used the god awful company after getting a good quote from a price comparison website. I sent off all my no claims proof (something in 35 years I've 'never' been asked for) and to my horror, they increased my premium from £287 to a whopping £893.93. If you want any changes on your policy, however small £35! If you want to speak to someone = ! 20mins-1hr wait and even then the opening hours are ludicrous. I insured my car with these people at a reasonable amount for the first year. Then my renewal arrived it was double!..they where charging 49.1% apr to pay by direct debit. ie for an insurance policy of £787 - I was charged £149.55 and £35 credit arrangement fee on top of this. In a recession this is disgusting. I dont mind going 'Green' but I begrudge paying for the whole ozone layer via my car insurance! It would have been cheaper to go to WONGA and lend the money. My insurance quote the second year was double the first year,so i went elsewhere and got it about £100 cheaper, But a word of warning - they took the complete payment from my credit card because i failed to notify them that i did not require their cover, The will pay it back to my credit card in 3-5 days (big of them as they should do it immediately) also with it being a credit card and not a direct debit set up they should not be holding or using the information given when payment is made with a credit card

Awful customer service,over inflated prices. We took out third party inurance, but wanted to change to fully comprehensive, They refused saying you cant change half way through. Also on the comparison sites they were £200 cheaper fully comp than what we were paying third party!! When we queried this we were fobbed off with some excuse. Needless to say we didnt renew and found a fully comp £250.00 cheaper with a reputable insurance company. I wouldn't recommend these cowboys to anyone. (read more)

They took £71.00 from our account. 6 weeks of fob offs and we finally get £41 back the rest was for cancellation costs and 1 week of insurance. No they are not legit. Green Insurance is part of the Kwik Fit. I cancelled my insurance with green insurance, thinking all was well, paid cancellation fees - and two months later i am now being threatened with door step collection for the sum alledged owed to them. Tell your friends, neighbours, tell everybody stay away from them. If you want to get ripped of, even when you've paid cancellation fees these are top of the charts. I have never come across such a cowboy since rouge traders.

I had a terrible time in court and eventually had DNA and fingerprints and photo on police database for life. Please don't give up. My son had his insurance cancelled because they claimed we had not sent off his documents. I proved that we had insisted they reinstated his insurance. They claimed that once insurance was cancelled, that was it! I persisted and hounded them and reported them to the Financial Ombudsmen Service and launched a complaint. They then said I would have to pay another £114 to have a new insurance put in place, to which I told them to swivel...and that it was down to them to pay this fee and have the insurance reinstated at their cost, and no cost to me...which they did eventually do when I told them i worked for a firm of Solicitors! I then had them put in writing that it was all their fault, that the cancellation was down to their error just in case my son has problems in the future with insurance, because even if they were the last insurance company on this earth, I would not use them!...

“Absolutely disgusting work ethics ”

Lured in by competitive quotes only to be given the run-around and extra charges/fines which amounted then warned that if I choose to cancel it would be an extra charge !!? Im getting quite a stack of paper letters from this "green" company. No doubt that at the end of the contract in 12 months when I try to cancel I will have to endure more f****** fines. Please do yourself a favour, learn by others mistakes and avoid this company. You will waste alot of your time with corespondance... (read more)

I totally agree so far. If Petplan doesn't improve their service for the second part of my dogs operation I will go elsewhere !
