Hey i have this nokia 5800 and i think it is alright if you just like music and the touch screen way. this phone does needs working on because it sometimes frezzes, and it becomes frustrating after awhile, the nokia interface is good if you like the symbian format but is a bit too dull. this phone needs better internet web browsing and needs to improve on the double tap you have to do in the menu, is annoying when you are on the go. the phone is a bit to large but i can not complain all up it is ...- Read Guest's review (118 words)

had this phone for a couple a weeks. it is a decent multimedia device, camera is OK but far from brilliant, really good for music. Very strong side of this mobile is the best predictive T9 texting i ever had in my life and good clarity when it comes to calls. handles well even though is not a small phone.
wi-fi and bluetooth are simply great, UI is somewhat complicated overall, so if you are looking for easy-to-manage handset avoid this model by all means.
finally I sold it - Symbian software a ...- Read applejamuk's review (129 words)

it is realy classy and tres cheque, easy to use , touch screen can be by finger or stylus , the only negative thing is the camera , the video is very bad to be recorded, and the camera need enough light to capture a fair photo, if not enough light the picture soooooo bad and there is no auto correct .- Read Guest's review (58 words)

I think this is one of the best mobile phone release, Nokia ever made for quite some time now. The sleek design and touch screen features are good. Back light is also good enough for me.
I don't like its display while against sunlight (poor legibility). Camera is also sub par in quality. But it looks compact and has many features too. I haven't tried the OVI store for my 5800 xpress though. But I really enjoy its excellent music sounds- Read larryjordin's review (80 words)

I got the Nokia 5800 Express Music as an upgrade to my aging Nokia N80 and the fact that I could afford the £18 contract that it came with for free.
My first impressions of the phone were good and that it had a lot of features but the one thing I didn't like was being forced into Sky Sports and the obvious high internet browsing charges that would follow for streaming video to the phone. The cover keeps the screen well protected but if you dropped it the corners are exposed and you could ...- Read beatleuk's review (205 words)

This is actually my 2nd review of this phone, but can't find a way to update the original....
..... I'm downgrading my review after a few months of use. It has now been back for repair twice, once for the common speaker issue and now for a cracked LCD screen. A Warning to all - NO DAMAGE TO LCD SCREENS IS COVERED BY WARRANTY. I think this is illegal so am fighting it, but at the end of the day I am very careful with my phones, there is not a scratch on it, but the screen apparently cracked ...- Read coz1873's review (149 words)

Well, after moving from a lousy Pixon back to good old Nokia, all I can do is praise this little gem-5800! Must be honest though, intially I didn't like it, but after finding the market rubbish decided to try it and WOW!
The battery life's damn good (make sure you exit out of apps) , the screen is amazing (specially after the crap Pixon!) it's neat & solid to handle, connections-web & bluetooth-are excellent, sound is good-dare not use it full vol as very loud! browsin the web is really good ...- Read puretoon's review (265 words)

I just got a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic a couple of days ago, without use, and today it fell from my hand a meter to the floor, so I had to dedicate to test everything. I am a Windows Mobile user for some time, and must say, that this one will make me change. Connectivity, music and video playback, phone quality for Europe, and ruggedness proved, its a very good choice.- Read Guest's review (69 words)

Nokia 5800 - Fantastic phone with some issues.
I was very pleased to see Nokia bring out a touch screen phone, as despite being a huge Mac fan, I am a big texter & like to use the Nokia predicitive text feature. The 5800 is great for that, which was my greatest concern about it. It has loads of great features - I can go online just about anywhere, upload photos to Facebook or Ovi. I've downloaded Google maps onto, which is cool as it uses the GPS to show you your position & also plans routes. It ...- Read Guest's review (227 words)

Bought my Nokia 5800 express music phone off ebay for £180. The box hadn't been opened then got a £10 a month sim from O2 - much cheaper than buying direct off Orange. My wife's paying about £25 a month and she doesn't even have free internet access.
I am very pleased with my phone. I bought one for my wife and once I'd seen it I wanted one. I ahd a Nokia N73 before hand. It was good, but this is much better. i use the phone a lot: I use the diary because of my job, I also ...- Read craggan67's review (482 words and 1 comment)

I am on my third handset which has just been returned to Nokia for repair. The first one had the screen replaced. On return stopped recognising the sim card. Switched on and off,it would recognise the sim card and would work for any period between 10 minutes and 10 hours before showing the same fault. This handset was replaced with another which did the same thing and then with another which did the same thing. Got a new sim from Orange but this made no difference despite the fact that the sim w ...- Read Guest's review (127 words)

NOT RECOMMENDED! Before buying a Nokia 5800 Tube Xpress Music phone please read my review to see what a horrendous experience I have had with mine... all 4 ofthem!
Being a Nokia fan I was excited by the prospective launch of Nokia's verion of the iPhone and therefore delayed my upgrade until the 5800 was available.
I was looking forward to using touch screen technology, wi-fi capability, a quality camera and the bonus of a decent mp3 player. Within 24 hours of receiving the phone I was already ...- Read Mendy Brendy's review (976 words)

My phone has been very reliable. Nokia release frequent updates.I have updated the firmware twice now. I've had mine since February.
I wanted a handset with a decent music player. This is very good! Great sound, convenient 3.5mm jack too. The supplied inline remote works well and has a mic which enables me to use the phone in the car.(I have a holder, charger and connect the audio to my car radio). I have also connected the hadset wirelessly to Bluetooth speakers. The sound quality over Blutoot ...- Read P1J2H3's review (471 words)

The phone stopped charging after 2 months. Sent for Nokia repair but they said it was due to accidental damage. I know I looked after that phone and it never dropped!! They are just making any excuse not to repair the phone.
All credit to PLAY.COM who arrange for full refund immediately and even paid for return postage. A* to them

DON'T GET IT!!!
I had to take my nokia 5800 back two times and it is now currenty being repaired under my own costs. I got it on a good contract but after a month of having it, the phone wouldn't charge and i was given a brand new phone. Then about two months after getting the NEW one the LSD screen cracked. This was classed as "accidental damage" and i was told that i had probably put to much pressure on the screen. IT'S A TOUCH SCREEN FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! I'm now using an old motorola phone ...- Read Guest's review (130 words and 1 comment)

On sheer value for money I love this Nokia 5800 Tube Xpress Music. I haven't attempted installing any seperate apps so can't comment on that.
Main requirement for me was a phone that had a half decent camera, an FM radio and an MP3 player, for which this phone ticks all the boxes where previous phones haven't. 2 months in, I'm not bored with it yet and no problems.
Bad points are all fairly minor niggles, but enough to deduct a point or 2.- Read jammyrhona's review (138 words)

The Nokia 5800 Tube Xpress Music is a pretty decent all round phone and MP3 player.I wanted to do away with having to charge 2 items, both a phone and an MP3 player so I got hold of one of these on Orange's Dolphin Pay Monthly tariff and have not looked back. There may be better out there with the Tocco maybe but I'm in no need to look for a better phone as this one does the job pretty well indeed. The only criticism is that I bought my own earphones to use and when you plug them in each time you ...- Read nadula's review (191 words)
