“Have had this dryer and the washing machine (WT960)...”

Have had this dryer and the washing machine (WT960) since they were first manufactured in 2005. Touching ood whilst I say this, I must be honest and say I've had no problems with the washing machine and the only issue I've ever had with the dryer is a fault code that was easily rectifiable (F10 code which was means you need to locate and press the reset button). “This has to be the best tumble dryer I have ever...”

This has to be the best tumble dryer I have ever owned. You can set the type of material, time delay. Large drum holds 7KG. Loads of settings from iron dry to cupboard dry. I'm always amazed how much water comes from a washing load. It collects in a tray which easy to pull out and empty. I get annoyed when people ccomplain about the condensation in their house and they hang their clothes on the heater. It takes twice as long to heat a damp house so invest in a tumble dryer. I bought the hotpoint ultima CTD80 in 2007, straight away had get an engineer out as it was so noisy on for be told the bushes had gone on it only had it a month also digital screen as never worked properly then noise came back and bushes gone again, now bushes gone on it again and its not heating up, so my partner had a look as it was flashing up f10 the heating part so in manual it says to press reset so my partner did, but still same unbearable noise and now its started smoking, so now... “Owned this for 3 years, the heating element packed in...”

Owned this for 3 years, the heating element packed in after 1 year, then the water drawer front broke off, now the pump has gone therefore I've decided to scrap it.

It was good at drying & the sensor dry usually was spot on, however I think I could get a better drier for the money. (read more)

“Had an Ultima for 3 years - control unit has broken...”

Had an Ultima for 3 years - control unit has broken and have been advised to buy another tumble drier as this one's 'just too complicated for its own good'. No more digital diaplays for me - good old dials from now on. Looked the part - but a shelf life of 3 years is not good enough. Handled reasonable size loads when it was working and didn't crumple them.
Could have done with knowing how often to clean out the condenser bit in the bottom of the machine - that should have been more obvious... (read more)

“Great machine and does the job well - only downside is...”

Great machine and does the job well - only downside is as this is a condenser the Decibel level is in the 60's so it is fairly loud but if in an out house or separate room this would not matter.

Good looking machine that has worked well for us so far, have not required service or support so cannot comment on that so gave 3 out of 5 in the star rating.

I would recommend to a friend. I give 4 out of 5 overall.
