The colour i picked was supposed to be light amber brown, it has come out the darkest of browns and very patchy. The application is fairly easy although ensure you section your hair or it will miss bits (happened to a friend). it only takes 10 mins which is about as long as it takes to apply, the conditioner is great and my hair is fairly soft. Overall i need to get my hair stripped as its patchy and so dark i look ill. Wouldn't reccomend it and i'm in the process of complaining to the... (read more)

I been dyeing my hair for at list 15 years as i have grey almost all over. i have use saloon type dyes and colours dyes such at loreal excell 10. which to my surprice last year i tried this one in 5.3 chestnut brown and it covers all my grey roots. All other branded dyes i have use in the past dye the grey but fades in one wash to a very paler colour. I have at present dark brown hair. I tried this excell 10 as I like every female hates the job of dying your own hair and the time it takes but when hair stylists charge £80 plus what choice do you have? I had used paris excellence which took longer but was brilliant! This time - took the 10min one but in honesty - anyone that can do their roots plus dyed shoulder length longer growth which has been coloured before within 5 mins per 2 differentsections should be a hairdresser theirselves!! i used to have platinum blonde hair..i used number 7 natural dark blonde..i used this as a temporary colour because i didnt want to go from platinum blonde hair to a dark brown/red colour in just one go.
As soon as i put on the dye it started turning a light brown.
my hair is now a light "mousy" brown.
this product is good if you want to darken your hair fast but not good if you want to go the specific colour on the box.

I've been trying for ages to find a natural brown hair colour, over the counter, which has staying power. Stumbled across Excell 10 Natural Brown and gave it a try. It turned out a little darker than expected, but to be fair, the packet did forewarn if you leave it in longer than 10 mins, which I did. Coverage was excellent, and after a week or so (I wash my hair daily) the colour settled to a perfect natural brown, with no dreaded red or gold highlights. The result is much better than... It turend out to be a bit darker than what the packet said but i really like it and would def use it again. (read more)

I have been using this product for about 2 years now. It has never let me down. It does what it says on the box, covers the grey in my usually brown hair to a very natural shade of medium brown. Most people I know don't even realise that I dye my hair! It only takes 10 minutes and is very easy to use. It is a little more expensive than other brands, but it's usually on special somewhere, so I stock up if it's on offer for a good price. (read more)

It was really easy to mix and apply and after i dried my hair i didnt really notice a difference for a bit(this was either it developing further or bad lighting)

I used excell 6 which is a natural light brown. Apart from it isn't, it's very very dark. I've dyed my hair every coupleof weeks or so for years without a problem but got a bit lazy with 30 min development time of normal colours so switched to this product to save time.
I noticed after a few applications that the roots had taken a much darker colour than the lengths of my hair. So now it's growing out and I'm left with a thick dark band of colour and lighter roots. It looks really... (read more)

My hair is a dark blond and I usually give it some shine with soft sunkissed highlights and a bath of color. I used a chocolate dark brown colour and every time I have washed my hair since the colour has washed out, even using a very mild shampoo. So just 2 weeks later my hair is much lighter than the original colour. Also the colour result was uneven ie my roots are brown/red whereas the mid-lengths and ends are black/red. Not impressed. My Hair is soft and shiny. Reading the other reviews I can only think that their hair was in poor condition to start with? I used number 10 dye - a light blonde. I left it in for 10 minutes, as instructed and as implied by the product's name, and after I washed it out of my hair it was as though I hadn't dyed my hair at all! My darker roots were still visible, and the colour of the body of the hair remained unchanged by the dye. It also had an extremely pungent smell - Nice 'n' Easy has a far more tolerable smell. I have light blonde hair with a few white hairs and I have ruined my hair in the past trying to cover the white hairs, as most blonde hair dyes are designed to lighten a lot, or the less harsh dyes turn a horrible dark dull colour. All I wanted was a hair colour that wasn't harsh, only brightened my blonde hair a little so that the dye wouldn't darken my sun lightened ends and didn't damage my hair.
