  Good Points: Ergonomically designed.
  Superbly well-built and a joy to use.
  Smooth-scrolling is worth the price of entry alone; I'll never go back to a mouse wheel with detents.

  General comments: I bought this mouse when it first came out, upgrading from an MX1000, and I just haven't found any reason to upgrade since. Which is very unusual for me...
  
  As will most Logitech products I've used over the years, including mice, keyboards, and a range of different steering wheels, this mouse is very well put together, and will last. A friend of mine slammed mine quite hard on my desk after playing a game (pathetic, really). However, the mouse is still going strong.
  I'm sure my friend is still going strong, too, but I haven't spoken to him since...
  
  The buttons have pleasant feedback when you press them, although the side-scroll button is a bit too far forward for my thumb. However, I have the fingers of a sickly school-girl, so I'm sure its fine for most people.
  
  The main selling point for this mouse is the free-scrolling mouse wheel. You can switch between normal wheel function (with detents), or a free-flowing scroll that just spins naturally, easily.
  
  For the record, I never switch. I now find it slightly irritating having to use a "normal" scroll wheel when I'm working on another computer. The wheel on the MX Revolution is beautifully weighted, and scrolling through web pages or documents, zooming, etc, are just so much more natural than I'd imagined before I used it.
  
  Imagine meeting someone who doesn't use a mouse, just cursor keys to navigate web pages and documents, for example. How do you explain to them how much more natural a mouse feels. On a lesser level, this is the difference you experience when you start using the wheel.
  
  I can spin up and down a document, and just use the friction of my finger to slow the scrolling down, or bring it to a standstill. It's hard to describe how useful this is.
  
  The only issue I've found with these mice is that Logitech Bluetooth devices tend to freeze and stutter. Although Logitech aren't even prepared to acknowledge this, the fix I found was very easy. I took the USB extension cable/stand from my Wireless ADSL dongle and mounted the receiver for the mouse on my desktop, so it was much closer to my mouse. Haven't had a single problem since.
  
  I've got a Razer Lachesis gaming mouse, and the touchpad on my keyboard, which are all connected simultaneously for various uses. However, it'll take a very special mouse to convince me to upgrade from the MX Revolution as my general purpose mouse.
  
  If you're one of those people who wouldn't even notice if someone changed your mouse pointer speed, then this may be of no interest to you.
  
  However, if you appreciate the benefits that come from a more natural interface with your computer, then get one of these, or the MX1100 which also has the free-scroll wheel. Believe me, you will never go back to a "normal" scroll wheel again.
