So you make a couple of mistakes typing your password / login on, just clear stringent security checks and bank will reset it - right? Most banks yes, but not at Santander, they will resend out all new login details - via the post which takes them about a week, but at least you can do make payments via the phone in the meantime - right? well yes but its limited to 5 a day, you have more than that? sorry no - your problem!! well at least when you get your new login details they will work and… Read Full Review

I'm happy to hear it wasn't just me experiencing Santanders out dated, slow response times to getting my Internet credentials. It took me over a year from requesting access to finally getting the paperwork in order to set this up. I phoned up constantly, went through so many security questions, to be told it was on the way. I was logged out of my internet banking account when I applied for a new debit card at the local branch (thank you customer support person behind the desk!).....so I had to request new passcode and registration number....my heart sank.....I have a history of receiving 2 of everything when this happens, no one can explain why,so it always taken about 12 weeks to be sent just one of each that their computer recognises. We were with Alliance & Leicester for many years, no problems at all , when we needed to contact them by phone , again no problems,UK call centre who dealt with the problem efficiently.Then..Santander arrived and took over. What a nightmare!!!!!. When you have reason to call them , the staff don't seem to have a clue what they are talking about, pass you round and round the call centres, some of which appear to be in other countries which adds to the confusuion. Santander's online banking facility isn't very easy to use and a nightare to setup, they also don't seem to subscribe to faster payments like other banks which is ridiculous as it might work at 9am but not at 1pm. There are no pages with a summary of the information explaining why anything is the way it is. Overall not a bad on line banking facility. Statments are clear and easy to understand. Transfer facility is very good and quick. Log in may seem cumbersome but it does make things more secure and Santander seem hot on security. Would like to see on line pop up for pending charges. Also an on line reminder for you to re-request your overdraft facility would be good - BEFORE it expires. Let down by very poor off shore telephone support… Read Full Review

At the end of Nov; I started to set up an e saver account and so far I have had a reference No; a sort code No;,A/c No.; pin No; e,card No; Personal I.D. No; an e. card banking No; an e.card passcode; and I,m now still waiting for a registration No: before I can access my account on line. Has there ever been a more complicated and uncoordinated system of e.banking. And guess what, when I do eventualy get through to my A/C I,ve got to change these no/s again. The Big Problem here is that the NEW service requires a Mobile phone.
1) I rarely use a mobile phone.
2) Unable to get Mobile network in Mid Wales Valley
3) Mobile communication is not Secure !

After 8 years I've finally had enough. Terrible service, branch staff appaling, phone banking people just as bad, complaints not dealt with, and so many mess ups that I can't take it anymore. No one takes responsibility, stupid admin failings on their part, easy to sort out I needed to ask literally 6 times over the course of 10 months to fix something (in this instance my new address where paper statements should be sent too). the number rang for ever then cut me off!
i decided to call another department listed on the ib contact us screen.

Where do I start? We have had a business account for last 2 years and had nothing but problems. Many complaints and 3 times they have paid compensation. Latest problem we have is that for the last 3 months we have not bee able to view statements on line. They don't care. Fed up with ringing and with their attitude. There is plenty of useful info on www.abbey.com. I did not find the service easy to use as this is my first time trying to log on to internet banking. I'm left slightly confused as to where to go next. Overall there is plenty to read as im trying to find where i should be.
