“Outstanding Bad service”

I bought cashmere bed socks for my 82 year old mother at Christmas. In January 2013 she emailed to say they had holes in heel after 16 nights of use. It had taken until today and endless emails and telephone conversations to have this resolved. They refuse to replace these socks having said they have problems with customers retuning bedsocks. “"Luxury" bedding pills badly AND THEY DON'T CARE!!!!”

I bought two Fenton duvet covers from The White Co after reading their description of their 600-thread count sateen smooth silky finish. They were about £100 each. After about six months of light wear, I noticed that they had pilled very badly and now felt like ageing bobbly winceyette on my skin. Most unpleasant. I have just seen your review. I experienced the exact same thing last summer with the Hemple bedspread. Pilled terribly and looked awful. They also told me it is to be expected! After weeks of phone calls and emails arguing my case they agreed to refund me the cost of one of the bedspreads. Luckily I still had my receipt. I spoke to a lady who was trying her best to be helpful but obviously the decision was not up to her. Most terrible customer service. I just wish people would know how this company treats its customers before they purchase anything from this store.

“Shrunk "Luxury" Mattress Topper - useless service”

I bought a luxury mattress topper for £140 6 months ago and after careful laundering as per label instruction it shrunk by 25 cm! It was quite thick so it became impossible to use. I contacted the White Company and they refused to refund or exchange on the grounds of a missing receipt. Apparently they has to prove I bought it from my company (of course, this is on the label, but let's use the excuse anyway). “Poor quality bed linen, terrible customer service”

Having paid over £150 for a duvet cover, I was very upset when after 6 months occasional use it was bobbly. Following numerous calls and returns I received a letter saying the Carlyle duvet cover may be less hard wearing and can pill a little (understatement!!!) they suggested I get a pilling comb to remove the bobbles. I clearly spent vast amounts of money on what was described as quality bed linen to then have to buy a comb to remove the bobbles!!!! I will not be shopping here again. (read more)

“Poor quality mattress topper”

I purchased this topper thinking I could be sure of it's quality and have been let down. It is no better than sleeping on the mattress alone after one night. Do not waste you mone. It also gave feedback to customer service who were unhelpful. (read more)

I purchased via the web site a duvet and also some Montabello bedding. The buttons continually come undone when you are asleep and your feet get caught in them. Firstly i didnt receive a confirmation of my order, so could only assume it had gone through and had to keep calling them to check. Then when the delivery arrived its not been a great product. I have ordered online with the white company for many years. Having relocated abroad 2 years ago, I have continued to order from them given they are one of a few companies that will deliver internationally. However, my recent order washed so badly on the first wash (all the colour ran), that the bedding didn't even make it onto my bed. “Poor customer service”

I ordered a gift in plenty of time. There has been no communication at all, to get through on the telephone is impossible, unless you want to pay a small fortune in phone bills. “Great Products, TERRIBLE delivery, delays and poor...”

I love their products, and have bought from them before with no probs. This time, however, I ordered a teddy for my nephew's Christmas and paid for it on the 26th of november, with 7 working day delivery. At 6 working days the order had still not been despatched, so I emailed them, but didn't hear back for days, at which point it was just a 'sorry, wait for ten days'. “Customer service at it's absolute worst”

I placed a very large order with the white company. I received no email confirmation of my order. I received one beanbag instead of two only a small part of the order. I called the company to make sure that another order would follow and they stated that they had delivered two beanbags and several of the other items which i had not received. I ordered a bath robe from this company at the beginning of December 2010 for my partners Christmas - originally online but due to problems with their website I had to do it over the phone.

It is now 18th Januay 2011 & I am still waiting for either the bath robe or a full refund. I contacted the White Company 3 times by email and once by phone and still no further forward. “Quality of the duvet covers, pillow cases and sheets...”

Quality of the duvet covers, pillow cases and sheets ordered were dreadful. They washed very badly, very creased buttons missing and hems falling off. I will not be buying from them again, they are too expensive and obviously spend more money on branding than instead on improving quality. What a dissapoinment! (read more)

I 100% agree with the reviewer. I had an identical experience. I went in the shop and asked for bed linen that wasn't going to crease. They said because of the high thread count it helped against creasing. After being on my bed for 2 days my duvet cover looks like something out of a student let!! If I could upload a picture I would. I emailed them but they didn't want to know, so be warned. An expensive mistake.

Not only was my order delivered to the wrong address my Daughter wore these 1 night and the Elastic waist failed completely. So what looks a good quality company is actully rubbish. My second order from the white company was delivered late . THey had not bothered to provide the tracking information. This is just a shoddy company poor service and cheap goods well marketed. Visited the Bristol store to buy 2 bath sheets having seen them online but I thought I would check they were as good as I hoped before I bought them. The towels are brilliant but I ended up buying them online as I felt hounded by the sales staff who presumably have been told that letting customers look around is not a good idea.
