I bought a symphony kitchen in 2018 and have had since day one units bubbling and they keep replacing I have now refused them to be changed anymore I am going to take this further, has anyone decided to fight this? Have had symphony kitchens out twice first time they say condensation even though I have two large windows and a door and an extractor fan in my kitchen, second visit came back inclusive. Told I’m the only complaint they have had!

As part of our kitchen package with Taylor Wimpey in our new built home, we were offered an upgrade to the Symphony range, we paid the price difference thinking it will last us a long time, how wrong were we? We moved into our new home in September 2022, since then we have had replacement cupboard doors and drawers & also contractors out (Taylor Wimpey own), who just tried to mask the issues. The cupboards kept cracking, the front of the cupboard peeling off & bubbling at the bottom. We have been in contact with developer (TW) who I should still have warranty with as the house is less than 2 years old. However, they refused to address the issue stating that Symphony has said it’s due to “water ingress”, Symphony has not come out to assess the issue. I would like the company to explain how some of the kitchen cupboards doors have water ingress as no water ever touches them! Obviously this is a design flaw but symphony will not admit it. If these units are not able to withstand a little bit of water or steam, they are obviously not up to standards or fit for purpose and definitely not worth the princely sum we paid. There are 2 people using the kitchen so it is not subjected to heavy usage. I wish I could attach photos to show how bad the quality really is!

Symphony kitchen’s products that we have installed in our house have been replaced about 3 times now. The doors keep bubbling and warping within two weeks in some cases. From below you can see quite a few people that have had the same issues and multiple replacements. When you discuss the matter with Symphony or the developer (Linden/Vistry) they make it sound like it’s never happened to anyone else before. We have had independent inspection providing us with confident analysis that the issues are manufacturer of defects and some caused in transportation. Very poor product, and poor and untrustworthy service from both Symphony and Liden/Vistry. They use any excuse possible.

Our kitchen was supplied in a new Redrow home. Shoddy and cheap. Plus despite the house only a year old the side panel is coming away. Both Redrow and Symphony have said it is not in warranty plus Symphony has said……. Regarding the query raised, looking at the image provided the panel has blown due to moisture ingress. Moisture ingress isn’t a warranty defect and therefor the works would be chargeable. So do not was your floor!!!! There is absolutely nothing good about this kitchen

We had the same issue with redrow and this kitchen, we had only been in our home 2 months and at least 4 doors have blown due to moisture damage. we saw the kitchen stored in the back garden while it was getting built! awful units and Redrow nor Symphony wish to take responsibility.

We have had the exact same experience with this company. About 3 full replacements and the same from their customer service representative that apparently no one else have had these issues.
The initial fitting is not satisfactory and has caused other issues in addition to doors warping and bubbling.
Symphony and Linden (Vistry) are saying because we have had so many replacements now it must be your fault. We have had Symphony fitters express that they have so many issues with their shaker products. We have also had independent kitchen fitters express these are manufacturer defects or damage caused in transportation or storage.
I believe this company is untrustworthy and unprofessional. They produce poor products and transport them inadequately which causes issues later down the line.

We bought a Symphony kitchen 3 years ago and were very pleased, but now a fault has developed with one door and they don't want to know. They won't deal with me (a customer), or our supplier (who no longer has a Symphony account - wonder why!) and the local rep ignores everyone. Customer beware!

Bought a symphony kitchen through an independent kitchen company in July 2020. Within a few months I noticed a cupboard & 2 drawer fronts were warping. I contacted the kitchen company I bought it from & sent photosthey were very helpful & spoke to Symphony about my issue. Because of covid they did not come out to look but said I probably had a damp kitchen & this was the cause! They did agreed to replace the damaged fronts free of charge. However I have now in the last few days noticed another cupboard front is warping! The quaility of these kitchens is appalling. I now have to wipe down every cupboard every time someone goes into the kitchen in case a drop of water has got on them. These kitchens are not fit for purpose.

We purchased a symphony kitchen one year ago. The cupboards have split and swelled. Very poor quality. The whole kitchen requires replacing just after one year. We paid £4667.00 plus worktops at £923 and £3000 for fitting. Do not purchase a symphony kitchen.

I have the Cranbrook (shaker style) kitchen from Symphony as part of a new build that we bought 18 months ago. We were given no specific instructions as to the care of the kitchen so once a week, the cupboards are wiped down with a damp cloth. However, these kitchens cannot deal with even the smallest amount of moisture - not from a damp cloth, accidental spill down the door when you're washing up even if it is wiped up straight away, any steam (so have your kettle in the middle of the kitchen floor if like us, your power points are only underneath cupboards...), dont cook with the windows closed, try not to boil anything in case a tiny bit of steam gets near the cupboards..... absolutely NO moisture which, in a kitchen, is pretty difficult. One wipe down a week with a soft, damp cloth has left mdf exposed along the grooves and the board swelling. This is on every single door. The quality is APALLING for a kitchen. Who makes cupboards that cannot tolerate a hint of moisure? I have always had Howdens and have never had this issue. Horrible, cheap cupboard doors. Save a bit more and go for something superior to these pieces of tat.

If I could give no stars I would. This company is an absolute disgrace and how they are still trading is beyond me. I moved into a new build taylor wimpey home in glasgow in nine 2018. Looking forward to a dream move into our home. It has been anything but, more like a nightmare. I am now about to have the same range of units replaced for the 4th time in 18 months and it has caused me and my family nothing but stress, not to mention waste months of our time. Having to take days off work to have fitters come to replace their unfit for purpose units again and again. And even at that they still managed to mess up how many doors were needed on one occasion. I am now at the stage where if this is not resolved amicably I will be contacting my lawyer and have already contacted the local media about this and also my local mp. Steer well clear of them. I would not wish this experience we have had on anyone.

Which kitchen style do you have? We’re still having multiple bubbling issues 2 years after moving in! I’d say 60% of our doors have had an issue, either damaged or starting to bubble.
Ours in the cranbrook shaker style.

We have 18 month old Cranbrook shaker style kitchen and we have bubbling and moisture damage on all doors. Did you managed to get either Symphony or the developer to rectify it?

They replaced my units 4 times and im still dissatisfied with it but according to them in their own words "we have done enough for you" symphony customer care manager in Scotland ignored umpteen emails from me. I phoned him to ask what's happening now and as soon as i mentioned my surname he hung up the phone and went straight to voice-mail when I tried to call back

I have the Kansas light ash. It is cheap and nasty and fitted very badly. I took my upstands off to tile my walls and the worktop unit is 10mm away from the wall at one end lol

We wanted a fitted kitchen to complete the modernisation of our recently purchased bungalow. We were given advice on which companies to choose but we were unhappy with their customer service and limited choice options. A friend advised going to MKM Scarborough, where we met with a person who helped us enormously with the design options. We selected a very modern range of units by Symphony having taken the time with her to look at different quality and price options. We decided on a mid-quality option and are very pleased with the result. Admittedly we had a very good fitter but even if we had not already chosen one, she would have been able to recommend several good quality fitters. (The one we had chosen was on the list.) We would recommend anyone thinking about a Symphony Kitchen to contact this person at MKM Scarborough for the best advice and guidance.

The units are very very poor quality. The paint blisters and is easily knocked off on corners. When we complained they told us their units were bombproof then told us the nice round blisters were due to trauma. Anyone interested in joining me suing them?
Written on: 16/11/2018
Yes We will join you, we have had the same problem with our new Symphony kitchen! Most units , doors and drawers especially are blistered after nearly 2 years of use and Symphony blame the problem on our own misuse, { trauma and overuse of water while cleaning } Paint bubbled and blistered on most of our units.

Was already installed in our brand new Miller home. After about 6 years the doors started to bubble and peel. The draws also have a large front with very little sides and back so lots of space is wasted and things fall down the back of the draws. The kick plates are always falling down. They are very expensive to buy a door for, rediculous considering the poor quality. The worktop edge chipped very soon after moving in.

Hi, how did you go about suing Synphony about the cupboards. I have the same issue with my Cupboards blown and chipped 6 months after moving in. I'm really interested in following suit to sue them as we have been given the same excuses as yours.

Hi there,
Did anyone go though with the suit? I am considering the same after the paint to order kitchen looking like it's been through the wars after 2 years. I would appreciate any advice

Our symphony kitchen was fitted as part of our David Wilson new build. What an absolute shambles. The fitting must have been rushed but there should be no excuses for the complete mess the kitchen was in. Every door wonky or hanging off. The worktop skirting not even sealed or fitted to wall. It was just left on the worktop. Every door handle loose and wobbling. Broken hinges that keep falling off. Dirty disgusting utility room cupboards installed that there is no way the fitter could have missed that on installation. But thought it was ok to leave in a new build anyway. We had these replaced. Broken oven. Our hob top has 6 rings. This was fitted with the incorrect support underneath so fell through and snapped the worktop and everything underneath. Integrated door fitted to fridge door incorrectly which has left the external corner of the fridge door being sheared off by the cupboard hinges. Sinks are cheap and nasty and easily scratched. They were already full of dents and scratches before we moved in. I didn’t get to choose my kitchen as we bought the house near completion. Don’t get the gloss just looks horrid. Complained to symphony but they completely ignored us.

I purchased several doors etc from one of the top range selection, what did I get! almost half of the products damaged ! Oh yes they replaced them three times but it did not cover the cost of me having to have them fitted three times. Symphony's response; I was telephoned by who I believe to be a patronising accounts manager who said 'we did replace them' Lesson on ; YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THEM ( Sale of Goods and Services) Act. so if you are looking for a nice kitchen I believe B&Q or Homebase have excellent customer relations this has got to be worth more than a patronising company! Your choice but don't say i did not warn you.

Kitchen came with the new build house we bought. Finish was appalling - they didn't even put the caulking all the way around the base of the cupboards. We asked them NOT to fit a cupboard in the utility room so that we could fit our tumble dryer - request was ignored and so they had to come back out to remove the cupboard we didn't want in the first place. Within less than a year a number of little pock marks appeared in the lacquer over the doors (top level and floor level doors). I ignored them for another 18 months as I thought they would go away as this was perhaps just another element of the house 'settling' but they just got worse over time. A recent development too is that the slow close hinges are all falling off and a couple of the doors don't hang straight. When they came out to investigate (I wanted to get it sorted before the 4 year warranty expired) they had the unmitigated gall and effrontery to suggest that it was our fault for steaming amd mopping the floors in the kitchen and that the pock marking and splitting lacquer was due to water damage. When I asked the representative how steaming the floor could possibly reach the top level doors she just shrugged and said - and this is the laughable part - that their doors weren't made to handle heat!!!! Once I stopped laughing and eventually calmed down from a murderous rage I decided to add my review to this very long list of bad reviews for this company. DO NOT spend your money with this company, they are absolutely unworthy of the title tradesmen. I can only surmise that the top brass there are related to the people who assign the contracts out for new build homes (beginning with B and ending in arratts) and they're greasing each other's palms. I cannot wait to get another kitchen fitted in my home - by a company who know what they're doing and who actually have some pride in their work. It's a shame I have to live with this rubbish until I can afford a proper one.....but I will continue to badmouth symphony (small 's') to anyone who will listen.....

Its not even worth one star this company. We moved to a new built home, persimmon homes. We paid for an upgrade kitchen and it's terribly rubbish . Kitchen are fallen Appart . I took photos sent to our customer care just 2 weeks after we moved in June and until today that rubbish company Symphony has not come down to have a look . The builders has come to check and has also took some pictures . We paid a fortune for an upgrade not for a rubbish job!!! You can get better cupboards at ikea . Our cupboard doors is not level ! Fridge cabinet door does not shut properly! Drawers not shut freely... chip on the door .. I can go on and on .. beware of Symphony if anyone going to move to a new home please ask who is building your kitchen . Don't pay for any upgrade!!!! Do your upgrade once you moved in . You can get nice bespoke carpenter out there! This was supposed to be our dream home.

This is the third time that Symphony has come out to sort out a problem they created in the first place, only having to leave AGAIN because they didn’t bring the right materials. I bought a flat in a new build complex and expected to have a few snags when I moved in. I did not expect for one side of my kitchen to be fitted at an angle meaning that the cupboard at the end cannot close and just hangs open all the time. Having reported that on day 1, I am still waiting for it to be fixed, 4 months down the line. They appeared to be very accommodating, it was their mistake in the first place, however have not actually fixed it yet. Instead time after time they have sent someone with the wrong materials (wrong size cupboard, no panels etc). We even rang and emailed to complain to which we received a reply that told us they were too losing out here as they are losing man hours?? Well sent the correct materials then!! What is this company doing??

You have now fitted my kitchen for the 3rd time while I moved out of the house for 2 days. Your brochure is truly an advertising misrepresentation of the truth. Your standards fall well below even DIY let alone any qualified tradesmen. I will not swear but you drag Jones Homes down by your inept, rubbish sub contracting. There is no quality control, pride or basic standards to the installation of your products You should report yourself to stading standards for a reality check and wake up call before no one uses your useless service.

I made the biggest mistake of my life buying a David Wilson new build home, fitted with a bodge job symphony kitchen, I have had no end of problems with the kitchen which I decided to upgrade at an extra cost at time of reserving my plot. Where do I start, I chose their Austin ivory range which to be fair is a nice contemporary looking door, shame some are damaged whoever fitted must have been blind, I have corners on units that are chipped all part of the rustic look, I also opted for soft closure, the ones fitted to my hinges are lethal they just simply click on and after a few times of opening and closing the doors they simply just ping of, they cannot be fitted again as bits of metal just snap off, I have tried for over 2 years to get my problems resolved with the house builder and symphony kitchens to date still having same problems When David Wilson sold the house I was told all fixtures and fittings were covered for 5 years, according to David wilsons wonderful customer service department the only item in the kitchen that is covered for 5 years is the units which surprise does not include the door because the door is something you use because you open it and close so therefore not covered. The kitchen in my house is just 3 years old and already looks like 10 years, after just 3 years I am already thinking about ripping out and starting again, Symphony kitchens are not kitchens you cook in they are kitchens that are just displays with a health warning DO NOT USE IN CASE SOMETHING BREAKS Both the house builder and Symphony kitchens customer services department are useless I feel like I have been taken in, what more can I say disappointed is an understatement
