“Ordering a Wickes Kitchen”

The Wickes Heritage Kitchen units are fine, good quality for the price but the Wickes Service is very poor. Firstly a unit was missing from the order, it failed to turn up for the following 2 times and then turned up as a base unit not a wall unit. It is now turning up 5 days after my fitters (who are doing a great job) will have finished and moved on to another job, how can Wickes get it so wrong! “AFTER SALES SERVICE WHAT A JOKE”

Our kitchen was three days late in being installed, not a good start, however once the fitters arrived they worked hard in stifling weather. Overall the fitters were extremely nice young men from Leicester, my only complaint about them was being left over the weekend with no sink. Wickes I believe are trying to screw every penny out of its customers and doesnt give a damn. my daughter damaged one of our kitchen cupboard doors so I went to our local store in Hemel Hempstead and found that it doesnt sell the doors on there own you have to buy a complete cabinet at a cost of £70. “Ruined my mood!!!”

Today I returned to Wickes for a Kitchen design appointment after the advisor had been to my home and measured up a few weeks ago. When I arrived he did not seem in the best of moods and was unprepared, he did not realise it was a second appointment and took quite a while to dig out the measurement from his visit. “NOT A VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE!”

WICKES.THE LAST PLACE TO BUY A KITCHEN FROM AND THE FITTERS ARE SOMETHING ELSE!!!!! I had the job of over seeing a new kitchen for an elderly lady. What with kitchen units, appliances and accessories being delivered over a 3/4 week span and not all at once as you would expect. A lot of items did not arrive at all until several phone calls and visits to the store. The elderly lady was left with just her old cooker connected and no water in the kitchen for 3 WEEKS. Wait a while... our base units and all skirting boards have absorbed water and need replacing, the kitchen is 9 months old.

“Don't go there”

Half the units not delivered. Fitter came one day one and had to leave a there were no fittings to put together the parts that had arrive. The fitter must wish he had never got the job. The salesman who came round to the house and took measurements got them wrong!!! The fitter has worked his socks off this week making compromise after compromise to give me the kitchen I wanted. “Wickes=Absolutely disgraceful bunch of conmen”

The guy we had was THE worst fitter I have ever seen in my entire life , he was that bad it was embarrassing . I've been in the building trade 30 years and found his laughable lies/excuses very irritating. “Sales people have no product knowledge”

Took delivery of Wickes kitchen units. When putting together the units ie kitchen integral units there was no space behind to plug in/water outlet for dishwasher and washing machine. If we had known about this then we would have ordered the extra wide worktops somewhere else. In short, - I order a kitchen (Stamford). - Over £600 worth of extra worktops were on the quote that only I noticed and had removed and refunded. - I ordered other worktops separately - the day of delivery I was told they had none in stock (despite the fact I arranged for delivery two weeks prior to this). “Missing items after booking kitchen 3 months in advance”

They called on the Friday before my kitchen was to fitted on the Monday to say certain items,such as upstands etc were out of stock. This means I will have to get my kitchen partly fitted,as I've booked my own fitter and I will have to search around for items elsewhere to finish the kitchen off.Did they offer me an immediate refund for the items they couldn't supply? “Watch out for extras”

the kitchen was fine you get what you pay for however the fitter tried to add lots of extras to the cost. watch out for over measuring the fitter say I need to buy 6 m2 of wall tiles, I checked the measure my self I need 3m2 which I brought. however once fitted he tried to charge me for he 6m2 and got quite aggressive when I said no. “"Top of the range" is badly made, chipped and no support”

We bought the Painted For You Range - delivered chipped their flagship work surface is swelling - absorbing water and skirting a warping, we cannot wash the floor without taking real care not to get the units damp. “Esker kitchen range”

Do not buy as overprice and very poor quality control and that is just the product the designer was useless as he got the measurements wrong so had to replace several pieces so that now instead of having a perfectly fitted kitchen with no gaps between walls and units I have a kitchen that does have 2 big gaps. Idiot designer now avoids our calls but the major complaint is that for such a high end unit they expect you to cut a door to make into 2 doors for the bi-fold wall unit which no matter… Read Full Review

This sounds just the exact thing that has happened to me. I ordered and paid (Over £16,000) for the ESKER from Wickes in November and had to wait until the end of May for the fitters (who were supposed to be the best) to fit the kitchen. It is still not finished and this is July 9th 2014. I too have big gaps near the walls, my hot tap does not work, the back of one of the cupboards does not reach to the top (gap of 3") some of doors are crooked and my range cooker was damaged at the bottom. The plinth at the bottom of cupboards does not have any sides just bare MDF and the same with the shelves. I have not even bothered to peel of the front plastic on the doors as I am so upset. Have sent pictures to WICKES and am waiting for a response. Looks like I will have to involve a solicitor. My IKEA Kitchen was much better, should have gone back to them. SHAME ON YOU WICKES for treating your customers in this way.

“My journey with Wickes”

After visiting the Battersea show room,I decided to go with the quote as I tought surely a company of this size would know how to fit a simple little kitchen. Sadly, how wrong was I. The contract was signed and work was going to be finished for Christmas 2013. It was only finally finished a few weeks ago...May 2014. The main problem was the contractors. “Customer services poor performance”

My kitchen and utility units were installed in November 2013.
