Good Points: - Cheaper on the surface than most other rental car companies
Bad Points: - Bad Customer Service
General comments: I recently rented a Fiat Panda through Targarent of Fiumicino, Rome in Italy. Price seemed better than other places. I received the car with a dent on the front bumper. I had it documented. When I came back home to the US, I received a questionable charge on my credit card of $67. I emailed Targarent asking about this charge, since I returned the car in the same condition, on time and with a tank full of gas (which I did not receive upon pickup). I haven't received a response yet (besides the automated response from the website).
I go to Italy every year and never had a problem with the other car rental companies up until now. I know my future rentals will not be through Targarent. Be aware of these business practices.

I had rented a car through car rental.com and they used Targarent in Rome. I made my reservations back in Feb 25 2008 and my visa was charged 377.22 Euros for a deposit. I got a Rental Voucher and was told to pick up my car at the Rome office on Via Anton Giulio Barrili when I got there they didn't have a car. We got a brand new car with only 38 km on the clock. The pick up office at Rome Arport is located beside all the other big copmanies (i.e. Hertz, Avis, etc), as is the area were you pick up and drop off the cars. The staff were very efficient and pleasant. We would use them again.
