    I'm allergic to gluten, and I think I just discovered Nirvana...
    The Cook House is a lovely, quiet spot. The ambiance is perfect for a quiet date night, or a lovely evening with friends. The service is impeccable, and the food is thoughtfully prepared. Lovely seasonings, perfect presentation, and ample portions. We began by ordering the sweet potato and chili pepper soup,
    (smooth and bursting with ripe flavors), Onglet steak ( juicy and cooked to perfection) the coley fish ( an amazing broiled whitefish, seasoned perfectly with lemongrass and melted in my mouth !) The vegetables were steamed and still a bit crunchy, perfect to round out the main course.
    And the dessert !! For anyone who is allergic to gluten,this part of dining ou is often passed over..not at The Cook House.. We feasted on pudding, and the few extra calories were worth it...heaven in a dish, with lovely baked cinnamon apples sliced thick and served over angel food cake(gluten free), then found swimming the backstroke in a pool of fresh ( and gluten free custard. All of this, served by the most delightful and accommodating people ! The Cook House is perfect, and I will travel home to share and recommend this Shining Star of Windermere.

    The Cook House offers something for everyone, fish, meat, vegetarian, gluten free. Fantastic desserts. I can personally recommend the cheesecake. We had toblerone cheesecake, beautiful.
