I have the A110 with 16GB Solid State drive and 3G SIM card slot. It was purchased for global traveling and has given good service from the UK to New Zealand via Hong Kong etc. I choose the SSD model for light weight and lack of moving parts for when it was inevitably dropped.
Yes it is slow but with the addition of software such as 'flashfire' and the use of a ramdisk the speed becomes comparable to the hard drive versions (after start up!). I have now also increased the memory to 1.5GB....

I bought the 160GB model - but a friend bought the 16GB SSD model.
While mine is fine (once I installed XP) - his is extremely slow,
and what's worse is you can't put a regular HDD in teh SSD model!
So avoid that one.
As said, the 160GB model is great, and I think this screen size is much better than the newer larger 10.1" versions.
It does get quite hot, and has a noisy fan, but you can download a program called "Acer ONE Fan control" which does a great job of silencing the fan.
I've...

I have the Linpus Linux operating system with 1gb ram and a 16gb solid state hard drive. This is a superb piece of kit and has functioned flawlessly. It is NOT a desktop or high end laptop replacement, but as a highly portable web surfer and email reader it excels. I love mine and would recommend it to anyone providing their planned use of it takes its limitations into account. The lack of bluetooth is a pest but my desktop does that job for me. The battery life is roughly two hours, but by... (read more)

The Acer Aspire One A110 well made, robust, quick booting linux machine. Buy one if you don't need to print. All my other Linux machines print perfectly - this one doesn't seem to want to! (read more)

Compact
Good Quality
Good keyboard for such a small netbook
Worked straight out of the box
Doesn't run on Windows which must be a bonus
This is a good little netbook that does exactly what it says on the tin. Well recommend Acer Aspire One A110, only bad point is the battery life is a bit short for me.

I bought an Acer Aspire One (AAO) this fall and within weeks the screen blacked out upon booting. Rather than replacing my AAO , Acer referred me to a technical repair depot. After 6 weeks still no word - then two weeks ago after calling Acer they said they would send me a new one on ' back-order ' - still no sight of it. Today when i called they said they have no idea when the ' back-order ' will be filled. Just wonderful customer support - not! Wish i had bought a MacBook now ' .. (read more)

The other day I went into PC World for something that was sold out and came away with an Acer Aspire One A110 Mini Laptop which, as far as I knew, wasn't due on sale until the end of this month. But PC World had loads at £250 each. Fair enough it seemed right up my street.
I won't waste time describing this device and where it fits in the overall scheme of things. Others have done that already. Enough to say that the Acer Aspire One I got was the entry level model with 8Gb NAND storage,...

I still have this laptop - since 2009 it's eaten its own hard drive, the power supply broke and recently the screen went black. All parts are cheaply available via ebay and it's still going strong!
