I bought a caravan and was told it had been serviced and would be suitable for use for 12 months.

On the first occasion I used it, I discovered the gas pipe was completely severed behind the gas fire and gas was escaping once turned on. I had to have new brake cylinders fitted and new brake shoes. The tyres were cracked and the fridge was not working via gas. There were other minor faults found once I began using the van.

Reality was it had not been touched in my opinion after being sold into the dealers as a part ex. I was unable due to work committments to note all the faults before the 3 month warranty expired. Consequently the caravan has cost me £1000 to date to put right.

The caravan is a 2003 Abbey Safari

To be perfectly honest, comments o this site troubled me prior to deciding to buy our new Coachman from Glossop Caravans. Thank goodness, the experience of others on this site was NOT our experience last weekend.

We placed a refundable deposit on the 'van before setting off on the 160+ mile journey, and when we got there, all the staff that we came into contact with were polite and welcoming. Once we'd decided to buy the van, arrangements were made for us to bring along our existing Coachman to ...

Glossop Caravans overpriced. predelivery inspection on second hand vans very poor.impossible to speak to the right person, service center cannot keep to time schedule, lots of delays. The 3 yr old van I bought had i6 faults on delivery, all of which I repaired at my own expense.Would never go back and would warn others to go to a more reliable dealer.Complaint letters delivered to one of the company directors by post and also personally, completely ignored.

If you want rock bottom prices dont go to Glossop Caravans. We went because we are new to caravanning and wanted a warranty and everything explaining. There have been some issues but we have been informed promptly and they have done all they can to rectify them. We bought an old van so we shall see on the damp front!

My wife and i went to Glossop Caravans on the twenty sixth of July, saw a caravan we liked and went to the sales office (this is the 5th or 6th caravan we have bought from Glossop). We eventually did a deal on our part exchange vehicle an Autotrail Cheyanne 635Se on a 2002 plate with just over 14000 miles recorded.A staff member agreed to fit a motor-mover as i have spinal problems.I said at the time i did not want delivery of the caravan untill September as i was changing my tow vehicle.

Glossop Caravans is worth a trip out to see what you don't get for your money. Everything seemed madly expensive. Some vans has evidently been "repaired" in a fashion prior to sale. Little bit of rooting in one "repaired" van (and that wasnt even in the Bargain basement' area either) with some form of plastic claddimg artouind the end kitchen showed extensive rot Go with a damp meter as a safeguard and be prepared to root and root again

I wish I had read other reviews before purchasing from Glossop Caravans! Their despatch procedure was extremely poor with no communication whatsoever between individuals or with sales. Unfortunately their aftercare service is even worse. My new caravan has already been with them for 6 days for repair. They do not ring with any updates or have any sense of urgency. Customer care is non existent. Anywhere else must be better.

We are looking for a replacement caravan to get something a bit newer and bigger than our already fantastic Buccaneer. We went to Glossop as they have a massive used section, however we are glad we went and had a look around before looking on their website, as most of them are no good.

The "Bargains" section should be renamed the "Top Gear Blowing Up" section, as half of them were 70s/80s caravans with missing windows, doors etc. The few we looked at were riddled with damp, one of them looked ...

Went there three times and each time was told defferent things. The sales guys are very, very pushy . I did eventually have a caravan from them, however I found when I went to pick up, they didn't have a clue what was going on! Took over 2hours to sort out, even thought I had a appointment to pick up. Also, It had dents on it (was suppose to be brand new) and not only that, when i was there, they were reversing another caravan into a sign, but didn't care. They just had no pride in their cara ...

We bought a caravan from Glossop Caravans and were assured that, before we picked it up, it would be cleaned and valeted, all scratches would be polished out or repainted and IT WOULD BE DAMP TESTED. The salesman said we would receive a courtesy call prior to collection and, IF THERE WAS ANY SIGN OF DAMP, WE MAY HAVE TO WAIT A FEW DAYS WHILE IT WAS RECTIFIED. He showed us caravans which were damp and said how dry this one was, it's the first time we've bought a caravan and we trusted him.

    We ...

Glossop Caravans make promises that are not kept.
Promise guarantees of workmanship that are frankly, not worth the paper they're written on. This is a company that I would NOT recommend to others.

The good point at the service centre was the member of staff. She was very helpful and I strongly advise that if you need assistance quick and efficiently ask for her. I found it quite hard to get through on the phone.. Ring fifty times and dont stop ringing...They do eventually answer.....
