    Good Points: Large open site. 4 pools. 1 child, 1 outdoor, 1 indoor (covered) and 1 pool for a slide area. On site shop, bar okay. Restaurant and take away not bad.


    Bad Points: Low water table as it is below the level of the Loire but separated by a levee.


    General comments: We visited this site with Keycamp holidays renting a 7 berth static caravan for just the 2 of us for 10 days. The journey from Cherbourg to the campsite took 4 1/2 hours on the toll roads.
    The caravan would have been a tight squeeze for 7. Generally facilities and on site facilities were good although the number of washing machines and dryers may cause a problem during the high season. We only found 4 washers and 2 dryers. As we went at the start of June the campsite was under utilised so no problem. All toilet and shower facilities were spotlessly clean. You may fish in the large, onsite, fenced lake, although we didn't see anyone doing that.
    The campsite is approx 4km outside the town of Saumur and well within striking distance of the marvellous chateau's that abound in this district and close to the wine producing areas. We visited "Cave Saumur" and I am now sold on Loire valley wines.
    Locally there is a large shopping precinct (5 minute drive) which contains a large supermarket. We enjoyed our stay and would like to go back. However, being adventurous we are going with Keycamp for 2009 to Ile De Paris (Le Croiw De Vieux Pont)
