Heavy snow forecast for cf44 ( according to Metcheck ....) no. Piddling down with rain! Think they have got one snow forecast right this winter. Always several degrees under with their temperature forecasts, totally inaccurate forecasting. I will be going back to the Met Office. (read more)

Yes, Metcheck has had some problems in the past , famously forecasting 350 mph winds and 2 miles of rain some time ago , but this winter it was far more accurate than the Met office weather forecast . All the other forecasts gave little or no mention of snow , but Metcheck were bang on the money this week when it forecast snow when all the others were showing little or none. (read more)

I used Metcheck when I was a teacher. It was easy to use and had some really interesting information on it. On a personal level I used it a lot to find out, say, the snow risk for my area. However, since the changes I can't access the probabilities page (it keeps saying 'we can't find your post-code'). To find the probabilities page is hard enough, but once I do, I can't use it. So sad. It was a good site and now it's rubbish (and has inaccurate grammar useage, too ... ) (read more)

But now a totally unreliable piece of shi**te, hardly ever works, and is currently showing the next 7 days forcast as December, so it is unreliable to the point of being dangerous,as a caver and climber i frequently would be happy to rely on metcheck, it was a great easy to read and understand at a glance format, now it is so inaccurate it is a joke and not to be trusted, how come someone hasnt taken it over since its founder got banged up for being a kiddy fiddler. Like numerous other I WAS a big fan of Metcheck.. Its layout was great, accurate forecasts, a good weather message board and loads of other great gadgets.. (Loved the snow and storm watch.. as well as the countdown to a white Christmas.. or not, as the case may be). But now it is just a shambolic 'bug ridden' inaccurate excuse for a website. I use Metcheck regularly. However recently I have been frustrated as the dates showing are not current for example today 02/07/2012 its showing 14th Feb. What the hell is going on. I used to frequently use Metcheck because it gave a great breakdown with some nice little gadgets like snowrisk (I'm a fan of snow). Now, it is a rarity for it to work at all, frequently showing data not available for the short term forecast, and utter gibberish (350mph winds!!!)for the longer term. It has become completely unreliable, and I am now removing it from my favourites because it just doesn't work. (read more)

Well I can only agree with many others. The weather forecast used to be quite accurate and the overview amusing. Now its just a complete waste of time. You would be better off sticking a wet finger in the air or looking to see how high up in the trees the cows are nesting this year. Metcheck, get your coat. (read more)

Metcheck.com used to be amusing the top 5 of the sites I used to get an accurate picture of the local conditions. I wave surf, kite surf, SUP, sea kayak and kite buggy. From this list I choose what I'm doing depending on what the weather is doing. Recently, I've noticed metcheck has parted from the truth and began to enter the realm of fantasy. Agreed. The site today has a security warning for your computer, site not safe for browser snooping advert gumph! Such a shame as forecasts were pretty accurate locally, even with the usual gliches. What a shame the site owners could not give contact details so their users could easily speak to them online and if they listened people may have actually joined their subscription pages if they thought they were reliable. With the gliches and maybe they were got at from time to time by other weather service providers? the service was not something you would wish to pay a sub for.
Hope it comes back, but for now have removed it from my favourite bookmarks as there are enough advert snooping things about these days, slows the pute down and gets on your nerves.

A few years ago metcheck used to be a good site but over the years instead of advancing it has gone down hill. The daily forecasts are always broken and never accurate. 9.5 times out of 10 the servers are broken for weeks at a time, everything out dated on other links. Absolutely terrible. The website has been down now for months and they can't seem to resolve the problem. You are better off using another website such as Netweather.tv which is very good. Metcheck has never been the most reliable even when it does work (once or twice a year)! (read more)

When it works it is pretty accurate and easy to use. Unfortunately these days it is rarely 'up'. Very frustrating going to the site and finding "Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0009' Subscript out of range: '120' /INCLUDES/GENERIC/FORECASTS/anyday_generic.asp, line 20 I am just about to remove it from favourites and start search for a more reliable site. This site used to be good. Now it's predictions are 70% of the time incorrect, for instance met check have predicted 256 miles and hour winds??? Twice this month. When they get the forcast wrong the site conveniently crashes. This site is dangerous to use if you are a business as it's unreliability could cause an accident. (read more)

I have built my own weather station and written my own software to monitor and record it. I use other sites to confirm my data.
metcheck used to be very good. But now i have moved onto another forecaster.
their website is down for hours/days, 140mph winds, 0 bar pressure... where is their error checking i wonder?

Bleeding useless. Emails dont work. Site does not load properly. Was on holiday recently and their forecasts for Spain were so inaccurate it was unbelievable. I used to use them all the time but in future will be using someone else... They really need to get their act together. Forget all the fancy gadgets and just sort out the forecast....simple.. Metcheck is rarely accurate and the site seems to be down alot.
I used to check this site religiously to check the weather for climbing locations but i have lost confidence in it due to lack of accuracy. The conditions forecast are close at best but often ive been expecting glorious sunshine and found overcast skies.
The site has also been down quite alot recently, I do find the interface very easy and quick to use, but my friends and i have started calling it...

Usually superior to other weather sites in terms of location precision, accuracy, and functionality, but I have seen what are plainly programming faults giving predicted 150mph winds and the picture symbols contradicting the precipitation predictions. I also miss the fact that the longer range predictions are no no longer available free. Metcheck is a good site for the amateur weather enthusiast. There are lots of fun gadgets, regular written weather forecasts and warnings and the general layout of the website is simple to understand. For a small monthly subscription you can gain even more. I am a member and my favourite part is getting an impressive hourly full colour satellite picture of Europe.
My only gripe with Metcheck is the amount of down time it experiences. Especially during high traffic times e.g. when it snows,...

I was visiting Ireland so asked for the weather in Cork.
I then returned to the UK and asked for the weather at my postcode in the UK.
When I look at the waether next week, I get Cork and there is no way I can default to my postcode.
