Good Points: Excellent off road ability, easily carries heavy loads, strong gearbox, comfortable drive.

Bad Points: Poor rear visability, expensive to service, replacment parts expensive.

General comments: I found the Ford Ranger 2.5 TDCi XLT to be an excellent all round off-road / utility vehicle, easily beats silimar class vehicles in the rough stuff. Only outran by vehicles such as the defender pick up off-road. Holds the road better with a small load in the rear tub, if used for a daily driver, consider buying a rear canopy (so your shopping doesn't get pinched). I use one every day, and play with it at off-road sites, ive pulled isuzu troopers out of the sticky stuff with easy, as well as a hummer, and a hi-lux!

The Ford Ranger is a smart, honest and reliable pick up thats often overlooked, not to be confused with its `rough and ready` predecessor.
Its capable long distance transport regularly achieving over 40mpg.
