We arrived a couple of hours early but were given the keys to our caravan with no fuss. Our holiday was booked through the sun promotion but we paid £50 extra for a 2012 caravan. The caravan was an Atlantic one and was very clean and tidy, the beds were all clean and bedlinen was nice. It was nice to have a caravan with clean sofas and carpets for a change and the bathroom was really nice with power shower. After negotiating the access road to this site, which can only be compared with a bomb site in Beirut, we reached the site entrance. First appearances were good and welcoming. However, once we had been directed to our touring pitch we found that ours, and a lot of other pitches in our immediate vicinity, were either very soggy or almost unnegotiable. Despite the rain we had another good holiday.Asusual the park was immaculate,the caravan was spotless and the staff friendly,helpful and welcoming. We love this park and have just had our third visit. It was amazing to be welcomed back by the restaurant staff and the food as always was good and reasonably priced. Stayed Halloween weekend -the club house was decorated amazingly for halloween -the staff put on a wonderful show - really good fun - staff all very efficient and friendly -felt really safe- caravan nice and warm - very clean - bed linnen even provided and was washed and clean. Absolutely brilliant. The pool was the cleanest warmest outdoor pool I have ever been in with a lovely sun deck and plenty of chairs. The caravan was clean comfortable and lovely. The staff were so helpful and friendly right through the park they all made us so welcome. We had great fun in the evenings and the entertainment was not too loud. I booked a break to bude holiday park after seeing some offers on their website during august. I was unsure about going after some of the reviews id seen, but figured id never know for sure until id seen it for myself. SO HAPPY that I took no notice of the reviews, myself, my wife and 2 young children had a great time..... We were actually sad when it was time to go home!! We have recently returned from a weeks camping with two other families and although the site itself is clean the facilities leave a lot to be desired!!! The shower blocks at any time of the day were dirty and in general need of repair. On one occasion I watched the cleaners enter and leave the toilets within 5 minutes, surely this is not adequate enough time to clean at least 8 toilets, sink and floor. Just returned from two weeks camping where the pitches were very small but the site itself was clean. Unfortunately the shower and toilet block was filthy and in much need of general maintenance. Broken toilet seats for the whole two weeks and mould, hair and cobwebs in the shower blocks. No plugs in the mens toilets making it difficult to shave, not all shower doors had hooks so everything gets wet when you shower. we have just returned from a weeks caravan holiday in Cranstar holiday park in Bude Cornwall. When booking we picked the columbia caravan that looks absolutely beautiful in the brochure pictures with 'everything you could need', when in actual fact on opening the door to the caravan the smell of damp seeped out and we were shocked and extremely disappointed at the state of the place. there were stains all over the carpet, the locks were faulty on the shower door, the bedrooms were filthy, my... When we got there we weren't exactly welcomed kindly. The staff were rather grumpy to be honest. The caravan was sticky, covered with grime from previous holiday makers. The floor of the caravan was also wet, talking of wet... don't expect a nice shower after a day body-boarding on the beach instead you will be greeted with a trickle of steaming hot water that if you try to cool by turning on the cold tap would turn to freezing. We just got back from a weeks holiday in bude's Cranstar holiday park and I must stay we were pleasantly surprised, after reading some of the reviews on here I was dreading it!!! The rio caravan was clean and tidy only critism was the carpet as it was a little bit scruffy and could've have done with being replaced but apart from that everything else was fine. Having stayed at many caravan parks throughout Devon and Cornwall, I can honestly say this is the worst park I have ever been too! Having ended up paying over £100 for a £10 newspaper holiday, I was expecting something better thsn this. We visited Cranstars Bude Holiday Park 25-29 April 2011. There were 6 of us altogether,my husband,two teenage daughters,16&13,and my parents. We upgraded to the top of the range caravan at the time of booking and when we arrived, we were very disappointed. This was the first week of the 2011 season and although the caravan was old, which was not a problem, it was dirty, there were dead insects, spiders webs and mould. I was very please with the caravan we stayed in (RIO). It was old but very clean, and well worth the money. we had 6persons sleeping in the caravan and had plenty of space. We were near the club house and shop but didn't have any trouble with noise.
I found the staff very helpfull and friendly.
Te pool was good, but bescause of the british weather we could not use it as much as we'd like.

Just returned from a Cranstar Holiday in Bude. Our experience with the caravan was absolutely dreadful. We were offered a totally "minging" caravan, and we complained bitterly. We were informed that the only option was to upgrade, which we had to do. This upgraded caravan did compare to the quality the Sun Holidays usually supply. We really enjoyed our holiday at Bude Holiday Park. The caravan was modern and clean, everything worked. The outdoor pool, although a little cool was fine for me to swim and better for the kids with wetsuits on. Friendly lifeguards both times we used it. Usually if going on a caravan holiday we'd go to a Haven Park, this Park is a lot more low key but in many ways it made quite a nice change. Been on a Sun Holiday, extended this for a further 3 days, to cover the B/H weekend.
The site was clean and tidy, all the staff were helpful and friendly. Excellent kids entertainment, our girls had a wonderful time, swimming every day (The pool is lovely)and they loved the two Becca's!!!
The caravan was quite old but adequate for what we paid. The childrens play area was great and the shop was fully stocked and the Diner served great food.
Had a great holiday, will go back again.

Holiday park was in a lovely state, caravan was very clean and well looked after. Security staff were very helpful and friendly, much nicer than the ones at home. The young one helped me with my TV and light bulb, and the old one helped us with some noise going on after the noise cut off time. Reception staff were friendly and courteous towards me and my family.
Entertainments was very well done, and one of the girls had a cracking voice.

Site generally untidy, touring pitches too small. Toilets disgusting and showers didnt work. Security staff aggressive, intimidating and a disgrace to the holiday park. Staff generally sullen and unhelpful.
Bude a lovelly place but definately do not go to this site as poor value for the money in every way. Far too expensive.

Excellent value for money , for 2nd week of school holidays . Caravan was Havana , which ok was old but clean . Site was very laid back and swimming pool was clean,did not experience any nightime noise, but we were not near the clubhouse.
The site is in an excellent location.Nearest beach is Northcott Mouth , across the fantastic cliff top .The beaches in this area are some of the best in Cornwall, a short walk across Nortcott and Crooklets Beach and you are completely on your own .

So we stayed in a older caravan but it was very clean and i am not complaining as we only paid half price on a special offer.
These vans offer very good value for money if you don't pay full price and are fine.
Staff were very friendly and the site has a liad back feel to it.we did not experience any noise at night but we were not near the clubhouse.
Shop is reasonably priced as is the bar.
A ovelly 20 minute walk over the cliffs to the stunning Northcott beach...

1) The club onsite was good for the kids with childrens entertainment daily, although the tables and chairs could have been better, looked like something out of a canteen and wobbled all over the place.

Nice clean site in a very good location close to cliff top walks, only 15min walk to beach. Stayed in budget Rio caravan, was reasonably clean furniture a bit dusty. Cooker grill and two of the four hob burners not working, reported but not put right. Hot water boiler pilot blew out maintenance promptly checked and fixed. ive been going too bude holiday park for 35 years, in all that time i only had to complain once (i didn't not complain until i got home). they treated my complaint quickly and efficiently, which got me a discount on my next holiday. i think its value for money because all of the onsite facilities are included in the price , and we found the caravan and site are clean and tidy. you do get some noise but people are on holiday enjoying themselves......we have never experience drunken youths... Just had a 4 night Sun deal stay at Bude Holiday Park. No complaints at all. We did upgrade to a newer caravan as I read some poor reviews of the the Rio caravans. However, we did have a nosey at a couple (empty ones) and apart from being dated they seemed ok.
The site is down a bumpy lane but it is walkable into Bude (either over the cliff top or via the lane) and near the large Sainsburys store (a large Morrisons store a drive away). The shop is adequate, bar area good and pools tables...

We stayed at this site from 21/06-28/06/10 and had a lovely time. We had been upgraded to a newer 3 bed caravan which was very clean inside and all the caravans looked smart from the outside. There were gardeners and maintenance men around the whole time doing general maintenance and things were kept to a good standard. What eloquent use of the English Language you have...strange that we have just got back from there (three families together) and had a completely contrasting experience!). Found the site and the caravan to be both well maintained and clean.

<br/>As for the staff, they were nothing but helpful, friendly and polite. Maybe it's your attitude that needs adjusting...just a thought!
