Compare the Market is complete rubbish - They DON'T do what it says on the tin. I could not see Aviva or Direct Line on the website, so I had to get a price from them. And guess what - Aviva was cheaper than the cheapest price on Compare the Market.

Compare the meerket / market schmarket, apart from the 'cute' and annoying ads on TV, this company is the absolute WORST for data protection (joke there guys and gals). I did take up car insurance with them through BISL based in Peterborough, a little over priced on balance but not having to shell out the entire year which Churchill asked me to do, made sense BUT you pay through the nose as they charge you a fee for spreading the payments, so next year i'll pay the whole lot up front. Compare The Market is completely rubbish. I've spent 1 hour in that web site to get my home insurance done and I ended up with no company whatsoever giving me a quote. The worst came after, I started to receive 10 calls a day from different insurers as the guys from comparethemarket are quite quick to sell your details.

Compare The Market is terrible. If you agree to their terms and conditions you are agreeing to allow them to pass your details on to a company called Leadex who will give you nuisance phone calls, whether you bought a policy or not. A disgrace.

Compare The Market doesn't have a clue about data protection. Be prepared to to be bombarded with e-mails when you sign-up with them. Do they have your consent to send you electronic marketing by putting a clause in their terms and conditions, I don't think so. They need to obtained your informed consent.

I did get van quotes from Compare The Market but they had so many variables ie excess, cover, recovery, contents etc and they were always buy now special deals.

I used Compare the Market the last time my car insurance was due for renewal.The site was pretty easy to use, with the obvious questions being asked. Only thing is that unfortunately I found my quote from another similar comparison site, as the quote I found there was £50 cheaper. In the grand scheme of things, this made more sense.
