Good Points: The staterooms were spacious and comfortable, The quality of the food for lunch and dinner were very good. The cruise director was hilarious and the entertainment was very good. The staff was very friendly and willing to assist. The Spa and gym is awesome!

Bad Points: Too much smoking allowed in public areas, like the Casino and Piano bars.
In my opinion the breakfast buffet lacks creativity and should be laid out better. I found this ship pretty confusing to navigate. The decor on this ship is the ugliest I have ever seen!! They need to take a page from Royal Caribbean.

General comments: Overall we had a very good cruise. Carnival lived up to their name of being a Fun Ship. Good food and entertainment with a friendly staff. My only major beef was the smoking, in the disco, casino and piano bar. Other than that I highly recommend this ship.

We had a very pleasant cruise form Dover to Amsterdam and back. Our only other cruise experience was with P&O on a 14 night journey around the med. I would say P&O and Carnival are a very similar standard. The staff were a little better on P&O and it was a little more up market but the atmosphere on Carnival is a little more lively. Avoid the art auctions at all cost. The splendour was a very smooth ride and its best feature is the Lido deck with retractable room. We spent most early evenings up ...
