    Good Points: None


    Bad Points: Halifax charge their existing customers 9.50 to transfer funds and then give them a rate way under the published exchange rate. I transfer money regularly from my Halifax account and always get less for my money than my colleagues who bank with other UK banks. For example I was going to change 1000 GBP into euros today - The published rate was 1.16. Halifax offered me 1.12. I'm switching banks now instead.

    When using Halifax International Payment System you'll need a Swift or Iban number of the local bank at receivers end.
    Can take upto 3 weeks for the transfer to complete.
    Halifax unable to confirm transfer successfull until confirmation from the overseas bank therefore a long wait again.
    Some Halifax staff seem unaware of the transaction process and the "International Transfer Team" are not easily available.
    Overall I would advise using ay other quicker service as the Halifax one is very clumsy ...
