Just over two months ago I purchased a phone and an ASDA PAYG sim card. The experience was painless and I have been pleased with the service since. You get a straightforward 8p per minute to any network and 4p for each text. No gimmicks designed to promote heavy use, no contracts, etc......and the phone is UNlocked as well (oh joy). BTW you could get an ASDA phone from the supermarket but the choice there is very limited..so buy online.

The signal (ASDA uses Vodafone's network) powers through, even in my rural location (Orange and O2 didn't). You also get a UK call centre (in Scotland) with helpful staff. Provided ASDA maintain all these positive features I will never ever change providers again.

Joined 2 months ago, and was delighted with the customer service. Polite UK call centre staff, that will even call you back if you are cut off! Gave me all the help they could setting up my phone. When my Three contract run out two months later, porting my number was painless, quick, no break in service, and my Asda credit was on my new number. Very cheap calls, great service!

Decided to go pay as you go after a nightmare contract with 3 mobile. I bought a new unlocked phone and tried all the networks. Asda mobile was by far the best on price and network coverage. Have had a couple of problems, the first sim card i bought did not work. Contacted the help line and was sent a new sim. Moved my old number from 3 mobile to Asda and lost the credit i had on the asda sim card. Contacted Asda, but held on the phone for so long i gave up. Still very happy with the service fro ...

If you want the cheapest pay as you go Asda Mobile is great. The signal is great in my house. Asda has been completely ideal for my needs. You know exactly how much you are spending and there are no hidden costs. Would recommend if you're not a big user of your mobile.

I ordered two phones from Asda mobile and these should have been delivered the next day.Four days later I emailed and rang to find out what was happening. There was no email response but the customer service lady on the phone told me that it would be with me the next day or the day after. Two days later still no phones. I rang and was told that there was a problem with my bank and they would not release the money. I expressed annoyance that there was no communication about what was happening. Af ...

I have just transferred 3 phones from Virgin to Asda. What can I say:
    1. The signal Strength is much better and more predictable, with Virgin the signal bar flutuated for no apparent reason.
    2. Superb pricing, Virgin and the other operators have been gradually increasing charges.
    3. Asda customer support is pretty good, helped me through the transfer and were able to answer every question, without putting me on hold.

    Downsides:
Asda dont have a phone website as of yet, so you cant see the cost ...

I have already recommended ASDA Mobile to friends and my girlfriend also switched to the network a month after I did. Despite low signal coverage, and no hope of finding signal outside of a reasonably sized town, the network claims to cover more than 90% of the UK - my guess is that this is more than 90% of UK cities. Anyway, besides the signal, the price for texts and calls is immense especially considering that it is a Pay As You Go network. 4p for each text! I was paying 10p with Orange, so I ...

Good Points: Painless porting, Vodaphone coverage, very cheap flat rates, helpful staff, ATM top-up coming soon.

Bad Points: Voicemail isn't free, top-up vouchers sometimes elusive, minumum top-up £10, no customer website yet.

    General Comments:

My number was ported over from Virgin within the time stated and I was quickly enjoying cheap texts and the superior Vodafone coverage. (Okay, it's still patchy due to my location but at least I can send a text without putting my boots on). At 4p ...

I switched from 3 as I couldn't get a signal in some parts of the country when on holiday. Switchover was painless on the Asda side - it was 3 who gave me problems trying to cancel my contract. Contacting Asda support has been good, except on the last occasion where I didn't get any satisfaction. For some reason, since joining Asda mobile, my phone battery has suddenly started to run down quite quicky, needed charging every other day. If I use the phone more than a couple of times while it's in ...

Calls from other countries seem very very expensive although I didn't join Asda Mobile to make calls from abroad, so I think that the cheap calls/texts in the UK probably balances out the expensive calls from other countries. (Haven't tried it yet). Haven't found any problems with coverage yet, so I am very satisfied at present.

A shame that their customer care just was not there in my opinion when my problem occurred. I called them 16 times and got no resolution as far as I am concerned. I sent them an email which I have not yet had a reply it seems. When I called to chase them they said they hadn't received it even though their system sent me a reply! I do not recommend ASDA Mobile.

    Cheap Calls Excellent Service
Great service, When my bank changed my address I had problems topping up while I was abroad. The nice lady in the call centre added some credit free to my mobile and sorted the problem! Very good service, well recommend ASDA Mobile.
