“6 years old and still going strong”

★★★★★

written by Chavez350 on 14/07/2014

I am a busy grandma who has looked after 3 grandchildren with the same ICandy buggy for 6 and a half years and it is still going strong. I Vanish the stains and have washed and scrubbed it several times. It is so easy to fold and put in the boot. My only criticism is the rain cover tears quite easily but we don't use it very much. So all in all a sturdy hard wearing buggy.

“Worst Buggy ever!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 03/02/2014

We have had 2 kids before and decided to buy brand new Buggy so would think we had some experience of what you need from a buggy but The I Candy Cherry is really style over substance! very very disappointed. The problems with this buggy is all the below: After only 6 months of use the wheel has fallen off! Raincover has to either be put on fully or taken completely off which with the UK weather is not helpful, ideally you want to be ale to fold raincover back without it blowing/falling off. The shopping bag is useless when using the carry cot as you need to take shopping out of you carrier bag to be able to squeeze it in-between the small gap, its better in pushchair mode but not much. Also as you need to keep putting the raincover in the shopping bag as it keeps falling off when not in full use, you have even less space to put your shopping in! The other infuriating thing is when sold by a well know department store they forgot to say that your nappy bag should be stored in the shopping bag as the chassis is so light, so where are you meant to put your shopping? The other irritating thing is trying to change the seat position its very hard to press the inside buttons. All in all I would never recommend this to anyone, its been designed by a company who has not even bothered to ask parents what they really need from a practical buggy.

“generally good - apart from the wheels”

★★★☆☆

written by on 29/09/2013

As others have said we had issues with the wheels - bought it in late 2010, by early 2012 (18 months or so) the rear wheels were decidedly wobbly. We didn't get them changed as our son started to walk well enough not to bother. We have just got it out of storage for number 2 and had to fork out £60 for a new rear axle and wheels (new design) the new design doesn't allow the wheels to be removed (which means the pram doesn't fit flat in the boot anymore!!). You can tell that the old design was a faulty one but iCandy refused to accept that, we'll wait and see how these wheels work...but I don't hold out any real hope having read other reviews.

“Love Love LOVE!”

I have found the cherry to do anything I need for me and my little one. It is so light weight and easy to push. Felis has so much room, he had lots of room in the carrycot, he was in that till he was 5 1/2 months and then moved to the seat - he is now coming up for 1 1/2 years and he loves that he can look at the world going by but I have to admit I sometimes turn him to face me :) I would recommend the icandy cherry.

“Love my iCandy Cherry”

★★★★☆

written by on 08/01/2013

I've had my Cherry for two years now. It's well built and made to last so even though it costs more than most, it should last for more than one child. The carrycot is a very good size and doubles up as a moses basket/over night bed. The only downsides to it are that it's heavy so not the easiest to lift on and off the wheels and that the mattress is very firm. The seat is good. It's a good size and my two year old still fits comfortably in it. It doesn't sit fully upright but that doesn't seem to bother him. It's more annoying that it doesn't lay completely flat and looks rather odd when fully reclined. The basket is huge and easy to access no matter what you have attached to the wheels. The frame can get stiff sometimes but nothing that WD40 can't fix. It is by far the easiest pushchair to push that I've ever had. Even friends who have a go with it are jealous. It folds down very easily and fits in the back of my Astra with plenty of room to spare for shopping. It looks great too and gets so many comments. The only other drawback I can think of is that the seat is not washable. I have it in Fudge (beige) and with a toddler it can get quite dirty.

“Terrible Quality”

★☆☆☆☆

written by catherineandjames on 11/12/2012

We brought the iCandy cherry for our first and the wheel broke. Although they changed the design probably due to the design fault we were just out of warranty so were charged for the new axle and wheels. The new wheels have fallen of twice. The last time was in the centre of town with loads of Christmas shopping – you can imagine. Instead of sending new wheels we have to send the entire push chair back to them first. Avoid this brand and manufacturer!

“Great pram but iCandy repairs extremely slow”

★★★★☆

written by Effe on 04/08/2012

We really love our iCandy cherry. Its light, feels lovely to push, looks good and fold up easily. Our only complaint is that after 1year it developed a fault with the chassis. We took it back to where we bought it (House of Baby, Bedfordshire) and it's so far taken 5 weeks and counting... The delay is caused by iCandy not having the part in stock. The repair is free under the warranty but we find a delay of this length unacceptable.

“I think its great!”

★★★★★

written by EVW2510 on 31/05/2012

We bought our iCandy Cherry in berry Blue nearly 2 yrs ago and I absolutely love it. I Keep thinking of putting it away for 'number 2' but just carry on using it. My little one has always been comfortable in both the carrycot and the pushchair seat. Its easy to fold and light to manouvre even with one hand and a good sized shopping basket, big enough for a changing bag, but also love being able to put a long handled bag on handle bar, and it doesnt slip off the foam. would definately recommend this pushchair!

“We wanted a *luxury* stroller that didn't come with a...”

★★★★★

written by DaddyCater on 29/09/2011

We wanted a *luxury* stroller that didn't come with a top-end price and so eventually settled on the Cherry. And have to say, other than the odd wear and tear we've been more than happy with ours. The Mrs gets a lot of pleasure from using it around town and the kudos of an icandy from other mums - plus in practical use, it is lightweight (as most will probably say) but for what we need - a city stroller, this is ideal! We've read of issues with the back wheels wearing quickly, but having spoken to the sales assistant at John Lewis I was informed that problems sometimes occur after "improper use" - so be careful to not put excessive weight (shopping bags) or else the bearings could split or come to wobble. However, other than having to spray some mr sheen to keep the folding mechanism working smoothly, we've avoided any problems. All in all, from a father's point of view, this doesn't score top marks for its durability but for practicality and value for money. Would definitely recommend!

“The best pram I've ever owned!”

★★★★★

written by Pickle08 on 19/06/2011

Starting at the top, with the carrycot, it is a good size and has lasted me for longer than any I've owned with my first child. My son is almost 5 months old now and still fits in it, which is good as the seat unit is from 6 months onwards. The carrycot is a bit on the heavy side and I have some issues lifting it on & off the wheels and carrying it indoors but I manage and I'm not the strongest of people. It is however very sturdy and I get the feeling it would last for several more babies. I quite like the security of the high sides and how tough it seems. Inside the mattress is a little on the hard side so I tend to cover it with a blanket for comfort but another thing I like is that baby can lay in there with no straps which must be more comfortable and it still safe because of the height of the sides. The only other negative about the carrycot is that I find it hard to unclip from the wheels. I always get one side out and the other side stuck. I've used the seat unit for my elder son and it seems very comfortable and well made. Again it's the quality which is really striking and it looks as though it is built to last. On to the wheels and it is honestly the easiest push chair to push. I can easily push it one handed whilst trying to keep hold of a toddler with the other hand. It seems to give a good, smooth ride. It folds up and down very easily too once you have got the hang of it and the basket is the best I've seen. It's a really good size and easy to get into. You can also buy clips to fit the maxi cosi car seat which is a very good idea if you do a lot of travelling by car. The car seat clips on and off very easily. The car seat can wobble a bit when clipped onto the wheels but I've had a good look and it's perfectly safe. The pram rocks about a bit too but it has a bar to stop that if you wish. Personally though I find it helps settle baby to sleep. Over all it is expensive but worth the money. I think my Icandy cherry cost about £500 including the cot and car seat. I've bought prams for about £200 less but they've just not lasted. This is an investment but it can last for the next child too... if you plan on going there that is! It does have it's little niggles but nothing major and I don't think there is a pram out there that I'd rather have.

“I am using my Icandy cherry for my second child, I...”

★★★☆☆

written by karenhenderson73 on 22/03/2011

I am using my Icandy cherry for my second child, I hardly every used it with my 1st as I just didn't feel t was robust enough for long walks and the rain cover is a poor fit for the pushchair especially in windy weather. The pushchair does have some good points;
It is very light and easily manouverable
It folds up easily and is small, it fitted in my Polo boot which is very small
My baby looks very comfortabe in it
The car seat can attach to the frame which is great for quick trips out of the car.
I think it looks great in the red and black and has a fantastic basket, with loads of room.
The downside however is:
I am on my 2nd back axle and wheels, the first showed signs that the wheels were splayed, Icandy allowed my retailer to supply new back axle unit with no issues, I then put it in my loft immediately and am now using it for my 2nd child and the same thing has happened, my daughter is 10 months old, I don't know if my bag is too heavy as I carry it over the handle bar????
The mechanism which engages the brake on the wheels has become damaged I think the brake has engages a few times while I've been pushing the pram and it is now twisted and expensive to buy a new unit!
The carrycot is on the small side, but in saying that I put my daughter in the seat at about 4 months, she was ready to see more of the world then anyway.
This is a lovely trave system and I wanted something light but its not that robust so fine for dashing around town but you dont was to be using it for any heavy walks

“We bought the iCandy Cherry complete with pram body...”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 08/03/2011

We bought the iCandy Cherry complete with pram body and foot muff just before our little one arrived. The pram body was somewhat stiff to remove, but tolerable, and seemed comfortable for the first six months. This pram is very light and easy to push, although you should be aware that it's very bulky when folded so takes up a lot of room in the car.

Our problems started when we switched to the push-chair body at around six months. Whilst the pram-body was stuff, the push-chair was virtually impossible to remove, and even though John Lewis (where we bought it) tried lubrication, it didn't improve matters. We returned it for repair under gaurantee, but iCandy wanted to charge us £85 for the repair. They said we'd bent the frame, even though the stiffness had been there since the first week, and any bending was caused by the fact that it was so difficult to dismantle. John Lewis protested to iCandy, but they wouldn't budge. Eventually John Lewis picked up the bill - full marks to them.

Not impressed at all with iCandy. Poor quality product, considering how expensive it is, and very poor customer service.

written by on 03/02/2011

Completely satisfied with my cherry. It's convenient and light. Lack of suspension was not a problem at all since it rides smoothly. I even took it out to the forest like park and it rode fine along the paths. The only drawback I can think of is that the carry cot is quite small. But this is on purpose since cherry is compact. For a bit baby the carry cot will probably last till 4 months and then the baby can go in the sitting chair (Quinny has the same issue btw). Great buy!

I bought the icandy cherry with carry cot, pushchair and maxi cosi car seat (adaptors required). I bought it because it looked like a traditional pram and loved the colour. Ideal for small babies who need to lie flat, we used it as our baby's bed for the first few weeks. Being able to use the base with car seat made it very versitile. Good storage space underneath. Pushchair can be forward or rear facing which is good. I think the accessories are expensive. The pushchair does not go completely flat, which would be better. Handle height would be better adjustable. I've really enjoyed my icandy and would recommend.

We bought the icandy Cherry in Liquorice & Black. My daughter is now 5 months old and we have just moved her into the stroller attachment. The whole system is super sturdy whilst being practical to use & is easy to fold (it is also really compact when folded - it fits into my VW Polo boot which is tiny!!). I really like this product as it is reasonably priced, is easy to handle, light to pick up, comfortable for our daughter and is VERY good value for money (especially when compared to some other brands). Five months in and I am so glad we went with the icandy Cherry!

“We have been using our iCandy cherry for 10 months now...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 15/09/2010

We have been using our iCandy cherry for 10 months now and we are thoroughly cheesed off with it and iCandy. In principle it is a great system. Unfortunately it is built so badly it just hasn't stood the test of time.
The first set of rear wheels and the rear axle wore out in about 4 months. The pushchair was sent back to iCandy, it took 4 weeks for them to decide to replace the wheels & axle.
The second set of wheels and rear axle have now worn out. The wheels no longer fit on the axle properly. They sit at an angle and wont engage with the brake mechanism.
Our retailer has sent the pushchair back to iCandy.
We have had a response telling us that we have misused the pushchair, it will cost £70 to repair plus £30 P&P.
We have never misused the pushchair. It has never been off pavements or roads, we have a three wheeler for that. It has never been overloaded, my daughter is only 10 months old, and she is not obese!

“I bought the complete icandy cherry travel system back...”

★★★★★

written by on 09/09/2010

I bought the complete icandy cherry travel system back in May for my newborn daughter.

I bought the whole thing including maxi cosi car seat, car seat adaptors, chassis, carrycot, seat unit, two rain covers and matching changing bag. I chose the mulberry colour and just got the car seat in black. I have since purchased the parasol and footmuff also. The whole lot cost me £638 but don't forget the maxi cosi car seat alone would have been £115. I have found this to be excellent value for money.

The system is one of the lightest, easiet to steer around and is extremely easy to use. I also have a toddler who walks and I find I can steer the pram easily using only one hand.

It is a stunning looking system and I find it often turns heads. It is practical to use and folds down reasonably small for putting into your boot. It always folds in two pieces but this isn't an issue for me.

The raincovers both fit quickly and easily and you can use the carrycot raincover as a raincover for the carseat also to save you buying a seperate one.

The shopping basket is a fantastic size compared to some of the other high end systems available. The quinny buzz for example has a tiny basket.

The carrycot is suitable for use until 9kg or until the baby can sit unaided. My daughter has just outgrown the carrycot at just under 4 months old but she is a big baby.

The seat unit says it's suitable for use from 6 months but it lies completely flat so I have already started to use it and my daughter is very comfortable in it. It can face both ways and has three recline positions.

The handle on the system does not adjust but the height is comfortable for both myself at 5'7" and my partner at 6'3"! There is plenty of leg room to push and although it would invalidate your two year manufacturer warranty there are a number of buggyboards that are compatible if required.

I had a small problem with a tear in my carrycot apron and my retailer replaced it for free with no quibble so it wasn't an issue.

All in all, I am so very pleased with my system, easy to use, fits in our boot, goes on and off buses with no problem and it practical. It handles every terrain I have tested it on and there are no tyres to be constantly repairing.

Love it!

“Buying a pushchair was the most difficult purchase we...”

★★★★☆

written by on 25/08/2010

Buying a pushchair was the most difficult purchase we made before our baby, due to the fact that I am 5ft 2 and a bit of a weakling, so although I wanted a travel system, most on the market were far too bulky and heavy for me to lift. We also live on the second floor (no lift) and I take public transport often so it had to be lightweight but durable. I can honestly say that I love my icandy cherry and it definitely fits the bill, for pram/stroller which faces both ways, and adapts to hold car seat and is very easy to manoeuvre, fold and carry. The only negative for some people may be that it folds in two pieces, but this is not a problem for me. My baby was born 6lb 12 and stayed in the carry cot for 3 months, until she got fed up of lying flat. The rain covers are very easy to put on and I have never had a problem fitting through doors or on escalators. This pushchair is a great buy and since we bought ours I have seen lots of people with them!

Beautiful pram! We opted for the special edition as we loved its union jack inspiration and were then surprised at what great value it was as it came as a package, including amongst other things their stunning changing bag (never thought i'd say that about one but it really is). So many people stop us when we're out asking where our stroller is from!
