    Good Points: Most comfortable and controllable chisel handles I've ever used.


    Bad Points: Dreadful finish on blades.Hone was useless.Diamond stone wasn't flat.


    General comments: My dad has a set of old Sandvik (now Bahco) chisels that he uses for best jobs. When I needed a new good set I went for this Bahco 424P 6-piece Chisel Set & Sharpening Kit.I find use for good chisels only now and again, so a hone is important to me as I don't use them often enough to re-acquire the feel needed for hand honing. However, the roller on the hone had been drilled skewed and wobbled when in use. Also, the hone wasn't physically capable of holding a chisel square.I use the chisels for jointing work mainly and find the bevels too thick. They weren't flat on any of their faces and had severe distortions due to the final tempering and hardening processes used. The milling finish was so rough I couldn't get a decent edge on them. It took me a week, on and off) to file, sand and lap them without losing their temper. I guess Bahco have tried to offer a product that appeals to all chisel users without specifically filling any niche particularly well and would be best described as chisel blanks.Since re-working them they are the best chisels I have ever used. The tool steel is excellent and when lapped and mirror polished holds a truly fine, robust edge.
