Good Points: Very strong but also light weight aluminium tube sections. Quick twist lock action. Dense foam padded handgrip. Mine had three sections and a removable rubber foot that exposes a hardened end for rock and ice (not used that yet). Also very versatile as the top can take a wooden knob or 'V' rest (shooting or telescope) and the thread is standard 1/4" camera so you remove this and attach a camera direct or even a standard camera ball head.

Bad Points: The lanyard mounting is removable and goes on the 1/4 threaded screw mount. Its up to you if you want to use it. I found it useful but as well as the lanyard mounting hole it has another mounting hole on the oppersite side - found this other empty mounting hole always got in the way of my hand when walking and so not having a use for it I removed it with a stanley knife. Now just have the single mount for the supplied lanyard.

General comments: Top notch quality - check model carefully as they have a few. Spares and accessories available.
