Good Points: Accurate. Adjustable. Can sometimes be purchased at very reasonable price. Air pistol and pellets is all you need. No tanks, no CO2 cartridges, no pumps.

General comments: The Feinwerkbau/FWB Model 65 is a truly classic target airpistol. First introduced in the mid 1960's, it was THE target air pistol for many, many years. I believe that there are still international records held by it. Production ended in the late 1990's. It is a spring piston airpistol which was designed for accuracy, not power. It is considered recoilless because of a sliding action of the receiver to absorb the recoil. Cocking and compressing the spring is done by pulling back on a lever on the left side of the gun. There are many variations to the basic design, different barrel lengths, grips, sights, one model with an electronic trigger etc. There were MkI and MkII versions, but what the difference is I do not know. The one I had came with different width front sights and a part to lock the recoil mechanism so you could use the air pistol for firearm training. Rear sight is completely adjustable as you would expect. Even width of the opening. Beeman sold them for a while. There are also various Chinese clones which I know nothing about, but would not expect to be nearly as nice as the original. Sale price in mid 2008 would probably be anywhere from $300 to $700+ depending on condition and accessories etc.Well worth having even if only used for plinking. I sold mine to move to a pre-charged pneumatic, but if I had the money I would have kept them both.
