Good Points: Excellent location- not far from beach front or main road (about 10mins walk in either direction). Staff were friendly and helpful provides a 24hr reception. Room was tidy and cleaned daily. Well maintained clean pool area, plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas also a pool bar for drinks and snacks.

Bad Points: Small waterpark opposite - wasn't very loud/busy while we were there (10-24thJune 2008) but could be busier during the peak season. Can be very windy in the evenings but still remains warm.

General comments: We stayed at the Gardenia Hotel/Apartments from the 10th-24th June 2008. Self-Catering. The Gardenia hotel is a lovely place to stay, good location a short walk to the beach front and main road. Near to a good selection of tavernas (would recommend Acropolis/Atlantis) and supermarkets/shops.
Our room was clean and tidy nicely decorated- cleaned daily providing fresh towels and regular bedlinen changes. The rooms have air conditioning available - would recommend using as the rooms are cool during the day but get quite hot at night.Reasonable sized balcony overlooking the pool.
The pool area like the rest of the hotel was very clean and tidy with a good sized pool, plenty of sunbeds and sun umbrellas for shade. The pool area also offers a pool bar for refreshments and snacks.
The staff were friendly and helpful; the facilities provided are 24hour reception, safety deposit boxes, internet access, lounge with tv, air conditioned rooms.
Perissa resort is quite quiet and not overly developed, retaining its Greek charm; however there are plenty of bars and tavernas to pick from. Most of the beachfront offer a beach service if you use their sunbeds. It is advisable to use the facilities as the beach is black sand it gets very hot on your feet!
A regular Water taxi service is available at the far end of the beach to go to Kamari and the red beach for a small fee. Regular buses to Thira the main town on the island.
One trip I would definitely recommend is the sunset at Oia or Thira -BEAUTIFUL.
