The Hyundai Trajet GSi TD diesel is a great car. It did 55mpg once and averages 44mpg. Even towing a caravan it only drops to 34mpg.

Does everything I want. Tows very well. Only costs have been a service and MOT, and a loose gear box linkage (£26!)

Not the fastest thing on 4 wheels but thats not the point. Take the seats out and you have a huge van like space. Seats in and you can take 7 passengers and a wheelchair! Just doesnt look that good!

My Hyundai Trajet offers appalling mpg on long haul journey - cruising at 70mph only managed 25mpg - for a diesel in this class I would have expected much more.
If the mpg had been better this would be a really good family vehicle.

I needed a larger people carrier to accommodate 6 passengers, one of which is disabled and requires a wheelchair to be carried. I bought this Trajet to replace a Citroen Synergie which is a great car but we were suffering with lack of space. I needed 7 proper seats, good boot space and reasonable economy, all of which I get with the Trajet. I'm past worrying about the kudos of the vehicle I drive and find the Trajet more than acceptable, although at 300kg heavier than my Citroen I have lost a no ...

I have had my Hyundai Trajet GSi TD diesel people carrier from new (March 2004), and it has been good from day one. I find the seats good, whether in the front or rear. I had the rear and side glass blacked out for comfort in summer for the kids. I got the reversing sensors fitted as well, so my wife who is a new driver has some help when parking. It has covered the miles with the family in comfort and with ease. I had a rear DVD fitted recently, which the kids think is brilliant.

    On the dow ...

My 3 year old Hyundai Trajet GSi has already had new injectors (within the first year), 2 new roofrack bars which had corroded badly (2nd year), seatbelts replaced for non-returning (2nd year) and now just 2 months out of warranty has developed gear box problems, the synchro between 1st and 2nd are crunching when selected and the engine has developed intermittent cutting out when climbing hills. The dealership carried out a diagnostic test but could not find any fault but a local garage found ...

The Hyundai Trajet GSi TD diesel People Carrier is a real working bus. Its not a sports car but who carrys fridges and washing machines home in a sports car!! Fuel consumption lower than stated figures but its worked hard in my case. Its a disposable car in my case. 5yrs warranty and no worries and chop it in. Saying that its got more than 5 yrs life in it as its heavily built. Its the first car that I have not ''worshipped'' and treated it like a workhorse it was built for and it does the job 1 ...

I've only had this Hyundai Trajet GSi TD diesel people carrier for a short time, but so far I am mightily impressed - one gets a lot of car for the money. It's true that the interior plastics look cheap, but it's all rather durable (mine is nearly 3 years old with 24k miles on the clock). The driving position is good, although on long journeys I drive without shoes becuase of the pedal placement. I have back trouble and the seat is among the very best for my back.

I love the flexibility of ...

Bought the Hyundai Trajet GSi TD diesel People Carrier from new in 2002 and its been the most reliable new car we've owned. Interior looks a bit low rent but has been hard wearing and has all the goodies you could wish for. I'm 6'2" and find the driver seat doesn't move quite far enough back but this shouldn't be an issue for anyone smaller.
Engine is noisy when pushed but reasonably economical and bowls along nicely when up to speed.

I bought this Hyundai Trajet GSi TD diesel People Carrier to use for private hire and overall have been quite satisfied especially with the fuel economy and room for passengers and luggage. There have been various problems, the alarm kept triggering itself for no reason eventually sorted by fitting a complete new alarm system, Gear selector cable snapped twice, Gearbox failed at 90,000 initially only affecting 1st and 2nd when reported to agents they said there was a modification out for 2nd gea ...

I have been dealing with hyundai customer services for nearly 14 weeks over the problem of my Hyundai Trajet GSi TD diesel people carrier cutting out. After the initial diagnosis they said that petrol had been used. To my surprise within driving the vehicle no more than 12 miles the fault was back. The car was returned to the dealership again. This time we were told that a new ecu was required but were assured in the mean time that the vehicle was safe to drive. Yet again the car kept on cutting ...

Although I do have on going problems with the Hyundai Trajet GSi TD diesel People Carrier, It still represents good value compaired to other models I have driven.
Having said that I would not buy the same model again.
The seating is flexable and as a load carrier is good but seating is difficult to remove in fact the very back row on the drivers side is a complete pig.

Looking at the other reviews I appear to have a Monday morning car, with the gearbox still causing concern. ...

    Mine's a CRTD GSi 2l
Just traded in a Volvo 940 2.4 LPT S, and spent a long time looking for a replacement so bear that and the cost in mind. Road noise is high while engine noise (for a diesel) is low, The interia is well thought out with a good driving position and lots of head room (I'm 6'4" the wife 5'2") and the car suits us both. The displays and buttons are easy to use and understand. The clutch and gear-change are very light and the brakes which I first thought ineffectual are very effi ...

The Hyundai Trajet GSi TD diesel is a fantastic family car, my 53 plate has an amazing level of comfort for the price, alarm, immobilisor, armchairs, lots of storage space, cup holders galore, captain seats, the ride is fantastic and not unlike the chrysler voyager which I also test drove £9,998 more for less of a car I think. A little slow but then if you want a racing car don't opt for an M.P.V.

Well, i bought this Hyundai Trajet mpv in September 2001, i choose this car is basicaly because of the handsome exterior, and it is real CHEAP! our family did enjoy in long journeys... but the noise insulation is kinda let us down when we travel at beyond 60mph! i wonder are there any after-market sound proof meterials which can give us more quiet and comfortable ride.

I am looking at the possibility of converting it to 8 seater instead of 7. Currently the standard arrangement is 2-2-3 seats. I seen picture of 2-3-2 seats arrangement. I wonder can I get 2-3-3? If any one has done it, show me a picture.

Hyundai Trajet gsi Auto TD diesel MPV. The mpg shown in manufacturers leaflets and on the windscreen in show rooms does not match the figures when in road use ie (26-30-40 mpg showrooms). In my figures averaged (over 2500 miles) 25 mpg, mostly driven with mpg in mind mostly on longer journeys. Drastically disappointing MPG.
