Good Points: I get a result. Sometimes.

Bad Points: In my experience, appalling technical support. Poor quality print. Inks expensive and short lived.

General comments: HP got off to a really bad start with this one. As with most hardware these days, the assumption is that you are on the internet and if you are not, then it is not possible to install the necessary drivers. And here I came unstuck. I won't go into details but the HP technical support people simply did not understand what my problem was, despite my expecting this and laying out the problem in a clear and concise form. It ended with then suggesting that I needed to obtain the driver disc from them, despite me telling them that I already had it (it comes with the printer. Duh). Eventually I gave up, but it cost me money to actually get this printer going.
I say get it going, but it appears to have a mind of its own, often refusing to do anything at all except move the ink cartridges from one side to the other. Then, bingo! It prints. Well, sort of. The quality of print is poor, with slight smudging which is most apparent with text. The look is hardly professional.
Inks are expensive but worse, they do not last for very long at all. And even worse than that, HP have designed a window which appears when ink is low. Fine, I'm sure that we all appreciate a warning but this warning does not go away until you have replaced the cartridge. It keeps coming to the front of the screen, thus preventing you from doing anything on whatever you may be working on. An indication that the ink is low surely implies that there is some left and this would normally be used up before the cartridge is replaced. HP don't seem to be bothered about waste. They certainly won't be getting any more of mine.
My advice is: do not be seduced by the price of this printer - it's rubbish.
