    Good Points: Very nice and sharp
    More reach than the 90mm macros


    Bad Points: Very noisy autofocus


    General comments: I had owned this Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX AF lens for over a year and the results were very good indeed. Photographs were colour rich and pin sharp with very little after processing needed.
    The 105mm gave a little more reach than the Tamron 90mm SP and the results comparable.
    My only criticism of this lens is the autofocus motor. It is pretty noisy and could actually scare away some living subjects !
    Image quality is on a par with Canon's 100mm macro but I wish it was just as quiet !
