Good Points: This camera is light and small enough for what it is, could be smaller but really doesn't matter unless thats what your looking for. It's powerful for what it is!

Bad Points: Wish they could of given at least a 32mb card vs. the 16mb.

General comments: This camera is so sweet! Everything from the box, this camera will do everything you want (almost). It's userfriendly, so if you are a beginner to intermediate you will not be disappointed, software is nice and very easy to use. It is well worth the price now.. Get yourself an HP7550 printer..it goes well with the camera :)

A friend and I thoroughly researched the market July 2002, read professional reviews and consumer reviews, went to shops for look and feel etc. We both chose the Canon Powershot S40 digital camera and have both been 110% pleased with our choice. We decided we wanted minimum 4mega pixels because it would enable us to crop pictures and still have good enough quality. I did a lot of homework before buying this Canon Powershot S40 digital camera but it was worth it. Apart from a few fairly inconsequential items the camera is superb. The software supplied is excellent with no bugs (on a Mac at any rate).
It's a lot of money (I paid £550) but I believe it to be very good value at current prices for 4 Mp cameras.

I sold my little old 2 Mpixel Sony, tried the Nikon 775, the Sony S75 and settled on this Canon Powershot S40 digital camera. More than I envisaged paying but worth every penny. Build quality is good. Picture quality is excellent and it's fairly easy to use (not quite as easy as the Sonys). I've shot 1,000s of pix now with variuos results, usualy bad shots are down to me being on a manual control learning curve!!! Very Satisfied.
