We had a similar experience to the people above, where our flight back to UK from Mumbai was delayed due to our connecting flight taking off 5 hours late. We had premium cover also, and read the policy while away which stated it covered for up to £800 per person for making alternate travel arrangements. On the basis of this we booked different flights home and have just had a response from Elephant and Aria Assistance that this only covers flights out of the UK, none for the rest of our 4... “Rip off small print”

Purchased premium level cover for honeymoon, international flight was cancelled, we were put on same flight 24hrs later by airline, no cost to us, all fine. However we had to purchase a replacement connecting domestic flight, again 24hrs later than the one we missed. Assumed travel insurance would cover this but no. Apparently this isn't international, even though part of same trip and on same schedule and ticket. Currently appealing as elephant are having none of it, very disappointed in... (read more)
