    We bought our Hoover Nextra 8 HNWF 7148 with some deliberation but decided that the size and energy efficiency spoke for itself, but the extra effort in getting the clothes ironed flat after a normal wash cycle made up for it.
    Like many others we have had trouble from the start with the filter blocking... this would be ok if you could get the machine emptied with ease but every three weeks to unclog the machine is a bit excessive.
    We too had to have the engineer out as the machine "had a mind of its own" and would not heat up on a drying cycle. The engineer told us that this was a common thing with this make and 6 months later the dryer is now not working again.....we have decided that a new machine is in order and WILL NOT BE BUYING A HOOVER WASHER DRYER AGAIN - very disappointed.

    Hoover Nextra 8 HNWF7148 is Quite simply dreadful. it's unreliable and when it does work the wash quality is poor compared to previous washing machines. Spend your money on something else!

    The Hoover Nextra 8 HNWF7148 is a truly useless and frustratring piece of equipment.
    Unreliable, has a 'mind' of its own, dryer awful, leaks all over the floor. A complete waste of money. I've spent £200 over the last year on labour costs to have it repaired twice. Clothes come out creased to hell after a drying cycle that takes all night. This machine simply cannot work out if it's supposed to be either washing or drying (badly). I've had one of these for 18 months now and on month 13 it ...

    My experience with this Hoover Nextra 8 HNWF7148 has been poor - it breaks down often and when it is working you can never be sure that they cycle you ask for is what you will get!

    My Hoover Nextra 8 HNWF7148 stopped working as the filter clogged and smoke was coming out of the drum. Good customer service so far i am expecting an engineer to come out in 5 days time. About the machine: You have to ensure that drying is not selected at the beginning of the cycle or you will dry washing automatically.

    Compared to previous washer dryers, this Hoover Nextra 8 HNWF7148 is not very good at cleaning and is terrible at drying and sometimes has a mind of it's own (ie. the selected program isn't always what you get!)Expect some very long program times for both washing and drying, I get that anyway. Do not, like me, buy based on large capacity and quoted functions, in reality it has turned out to be not very good!
