I've had this Freeview recorder for about 3 years now and apart from some very minor problems it has worked like a dream since purchasing. The first thing that attracted me to it was its very small footprint in comparison to other machines I have owned/viewed. It can stand horizontally or vertically making it perfect if space is limited. Its operation is close to silent and the quality of the picture is very good in both broadcast and record modes. The remote control is well thought out and easy to use as is the TV guide interface. The only small gripe I have ever had is that when you RWD or FFW through adverts and you press play, the machine will often freeze or the soundtrack will go out of sync. This really isn't a major drawback as you just need to pause the recording to put it right again. Sadly, after all these years the machine is a little outdated as it has no series link or other advantages of Freeview+ but I have now purchased a TVonics DTR-Z500HD for the bedroom and this little beauty resides in the dining room. British made and with outstanding energy saving features, I can wholly recommend TVonics to anyone.
